About
Suzanne Whang has B.A. in Psychology from Yale University and a master's degree in cognitive psychology from Brown University. She is also a published author and professional keynote speaker. Suzanne has 25 years of experience as a successful actor and award-winning stand-up comedian, but she is best known as the host of HGTV's #1 show, "House Hunters," for almost 10 years. She is also a metaphysical minister who gives guest sermons at spiritual centers across the United States. Suzanne was the first person to send "The Secret" to Oprah Winfrey and got her to do a show about the law of attraction in quantum physics. She is a stage 4 breast cancer survivor and thriver who is now miraculously cancer-free after being given 6 months to live in 2011. I believe that private coaching is one of the things I was put on the planet to do. I find it incredibly rewarding, and because I create a safe, sacred space for the experience, people tend to trust me very quickly. I do life coaching, career coaching, acting coaching, writing coaching, storytelling coaching, singing coaching, songwriting coaching, spiritual counseling, couples' counseling, and public speaking coaching.

Suzanne is very amazing person to talk to, good listener, got lots of helpful advices and exercises, and she's very funny on top of all, so I definitely recommend her if you are looking for social anxiety counseling !

I have never hired a therapist or counselor before, and was initially very apprehensive about the process and unsure of where to start but I knew I needed help. But after talking to a few potentials on Thumbtack and elsewhere I felt Suzanne Whang would best meet my needs and I am very happy to say she has exceeded my expectations. She is personable, somewhat irreverent (and very funny), she knows when to listen and knows when to speak and has been extraordinary in dealing with an apprehensive first timer such as myself. Her insights have been invaluable and given me much needed perspective and helped me work through some things. She has gone quite above and beyond her regular duties in aiding me. Whether you’re skeptical on the counseling experience or are ready for a life change I can’t recommend Suzanne Whang enough.

Suzanne is a compassionate, people and life-loving soul who has the ability to listen to your story and make it into one that you are so very excited to continue. She helped me see the big picture and give myself the permission to do what I truly believe is for my happiness and not be burdened by what people think of me. Not only is she insightful, she is funny. Humor is so important when you're in a state of, well, not the best you can be. Personally, I'm going through a tough divorce and Suzanne has helped me become certain that I will be the happiest person alive when I come out the other end.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I have a B.A. in Psychology from Yale University and a Masters Degree in Cognitive Psychology from Brown University. I have studied metaphysics for the past 25 years, and I am an ordained Universal Life minister. I have been a teacher and coach to artists of all types for 15 years. I can provide transformative counseling, but I am not a licensed psychotherapist .

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

    Once I was having lunch with a friend of mine and someone at the next table said to me, "Sorry to eavesdrop, but are you a life coach? And if so, can I have your business card?" People have naturally gravitated to me for wisdom, compassion and guidance ever since I can remember. And because I'm approachable and non-judgmental, people seem to trust me with their darkest secrets. My nickname is "The Vault" because people feel safe with me and intuitively know that I will protect their privacy and maintain confidentiality.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

    Adults, teens, children, people of different races, people who live all over the world, and people of a wide variety of professions, including currently-not-working, independently wealthy, and retired.
