FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Initial consultations are free. A small retainer is required to begin work and invoices are provided upon completion of each phase of work or as scheduled per written agreement. Phases typically include, but are not limited to, As-Built Drawings; Schematic Design; Design Review; Construction Documents; Plan Check; and Construction Administration, depending upon the project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My experience is that all people are unique and that it is important to begin each project willing to listen carefully and try to understand what defines project success from the client’s point of view. Construction projects, no matter how big or small, are ultimately very personal endeavors. The most important objective is to get to know your client and to communicate clearly and effectively with them throughout the entire process. It all begins with a simple phone call to discuss the outline of your project including timeline and scope of work. If everything seems mutually beneficial, an initial meeting is arranged to discuss project goals in more detail and to view the project location. A written Proposal for Services will then be presented and a small retainer is required to begin work.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and have since either worked in or consulted with various architectural firms on a broad spectrum of occupancy types from residential to commercial and institutional. I have established working relationships with licensed architects, engineers and contractors and am a LEED Accredited Professional.
