David is a very nice and responsible guy. I find him on the website. He is a genius in installing doors. I need a patio door exchanged. After we talked over the phone, he set my reservation immediately. It was the next day David came to my house to measure the door size and accompanied me to choose a very nice patio door. On the day the door was delivered, David spent the whole day installing my patio door. As you know, the patio door is both large and heavy, only the skilled man can install it perfectly. David did it!! He carefully checked the strike plate and the metal piece on the jam where the door latched to make sure it is not too low or too high. David also checked the hinges to look for uneven lines. The gaps all around the door were same all the way. We can’t see any imperfection about David’s work. My patio door was finally installed beautifully. I love my patio door so much that I can’t thank David any more. The price for installing the door is very reasonable. In the end, David gave us free lubricant, paint, brushes, stain marker, etc. David also came and helped clean the patio the other day, for which I appreciated a lot. David is a responsible man for installing doors, if you have any kind of doors for installing, don’t miss such a good man.
Ralph built a deck and fence for me about a month ago and the work was absolutely great. His prices were very reaonsonable and he did the job in a very short time. By far, one of the easiest and nicest contractors to work with. I would recommend him to anyone as he finished the job on-time and the deck and fence looked great!
Keith helped me match an accent wall to the rest of the walls in the room and painted my guestroom...twice. When I decided that I actually wanted a different color in the guestroom, he came back out within days and took care of it. He was super fast and definitely worth the money. I would use him again without hesitation.
I hired Matthew to build a redwood fence and sand/stain my rear deck. He did an excellent job. Tight cuts on all corners, close attention to all detail. And he is a really nice guy. Was flexible in scheduling and worked really quickly. I will be using Matthew for many future projects.
Gustavo did a good job of tiles in my two bathrooms of my house we are very satisfied with the work and with gustavo and we are recommended with our friend and we also recommend it for you who want to renovate your bathrooms thanks
If you want to have your stress released, Barry is the way to go! I needed him at the last minute and he came with his son and daughter-in-law. Not only did they get the job done, I hired the son and daughter-in-law for the next day. I litterally sat and watched them move. Barry also fixed patched some holes, fixed the stairwell, and my back deck. I will hire them again to move into my next place. Thanks Barry for being there for me and taking the load off my shoulders. I couldn't have survived this move without you guys!
They did a great job pressure washing my house and awning. They also cleaned did a great job cleaning out my gutters. The paint job on my patio fence was pretty good but there were quite a few drips of paint left on the patio that could've been cleaned up before they left but overall, they did a pretty good job.
So happy we hired Tom! He built, installed, and painted a small railing for our porch - very satisfied with the workmanship. He was very professional, efficient, timely and trustworthy. We highly recommend him.
Chris was a true professional and you can tell by his work. We had Chris stain a fence we recently had installed at our house and he did an incredible job doing so. He cares about his customers and wants to make sure he gets their approval before considering a job complete. I highly recommend him for jobs you need taken care of at your home.
Diego is an incredible painter and handyman. We had Diego paint the entire interior of our house. Four bedrooms, two baths, dining room, kitchen, living room, and two hallways. He came out to the house three times before beginning the job to discuss the work and make sure he understood exactly what we wanted. He was flexible when we wanted to add on painting our front stairs and porch. He helped us with lighting fixtures and gave us many tips and suggestions around what colors to paint. He is very professional and the quality of his work is outstanding. He’s also the most communicative professional I’ve worked with. He called us every night to let us know where he was with the work and what his plan was for the next day. Would hire him again in a heartbeat.
Alex did a full rebuild of my 20 year old existing porch. All Azek decking, rails, etc, including 2 sets of stairs, new posts, footings, and concrete slabs. 1st class job, could not have been happier. He finished on time (really!), and was right on budget. He came in 2 thousand dollars less than the next lowest comparable bid, and several thousand less than some. . There was close to zero wasted materials/returns. He adjusted on the fly, was creative, and showed excellent attention to detail. I will use him again, and will gladly recommend him to anyone.
Kirk and his team performed an interior remodel and a new garage build for my house from January 2011 to July 2011. I am satisfied with Kirks work. He is very experienced in new constructions and remodels. He did a very good job for a very good price. Kirk also gave me lots of free extras at his expense. In March 2010 I purchased a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom house in Union City, California. The house was in good structural condition, but as a foreclosured unit, it needed some rehabilitation. The original detached garage was in poor condition; it was badly damaged by termites and water. My intent was to have the detached garage demolished and completely rebuilt from the ground up. I planned on doing interior renovation at a later time. I found Kirk from craigslist and he had a link to his Thumbtack page. I called him and he came by to give me an estimate. He said he could give me a really good deal on a new garage and do an interior remodel for a little more than what I would have paid for the garage alone. Kirk was really enthusiastic about doing my job, much more so than the other contractors I had come to give me a bid. Kirk also had very good ideas about modernizing the interior. He suggested a bar counter between my kitchen and dining area. He would also turn my empty utility rooms into a master bedroom and master bathroom. And he wanted to create a laundry machine closet. Kirk had an architect draw the construction plans; his architect did a really nice job. He submitted it to the city as part of the permit application process. I wanted the work done with all permits so everything would be by the book. It would also help should I decide to sell the house at a later date. Kirk started out on the interior work first. He demolished the old kitchen and utility room. He built a new kitchen, a master bedroom, a master bathroom, a laundry machine closet, and a small coat closet by the front door. Kirk said he could also do a couple more things to the interior. He would do the labor for cheap if I paid for the materials. So I agreed and Kirk also replaced my front door, front window, and sliding glass door. He also remodeled my fireplace and fixed a bunch of broken things in my original bathroom. Kirk also completely rewired the house. The original wiring was a dangerous mess, a potential fire hazard. The interior work was completed towards the end of April 2011 and all the work was approved by the city inspector. It looked really nice. I received many compliments from friends and family. I am fairly picky with details and I did notice a couple flaws with fit and finish. I pointed out them out to Kirk. He and his workers did fix them. The garage work started immediately afterwards. The old garage was not worth saving so it was demolished and hauled away. The original foundation was unusable. So Kirk jackhammered it out. Kirk poured a new heavy-duty foundation onto an extensive frame of rebar. He tied it into the house foundation. Then he framed the new oversized 510 square foot garage. Kirk added a storage attic with a pull-down ladder. Kirk also poured a new driveway that looked excellent. Kirk added a 50 amp subpanel to the garage. He also gave me a bunch of free extras like wall insulation. Kirk also used roof panels coated with an aluminum heat reflective substance. The garage was completed by the end of July 2011. It looked really nice. Like the interior, I also received compliments from friends and family. The above garage attic storage with the pull-down ladder was really useful. The garage also passed city inspection. There were also a few issues with fit and finish in the garage. Kirk fixed the problems that I pointed out. While the garage was being built, Kirk also repaired my patio awning and side perimeter fence. He did an excellent job on them. One lady even drove by, stopped, and complimented on how nice the outside looks. I am overall satisfied with Kirks work. He really transformed my house. Since everything was done with permits, I now have a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house on county and city records. If you want to see his work on my house, ask Kirk to give you my phone number.
The project involved the dismantling and removal of a gazebo and deck with an attached wisteria. Geoffrey was timely and efficient in completing the project and did a nice job in cleaning up after. A job well done!
The work that Karl performed for me was extensive since I have a 5000sq. ft. home. I will describe each area of the job. Plumbing: Replaced all fixtures in 3 bathrooms including underneath all sinks hot and cold water valves. Cleaned out all drains in sinks and showers. Cleaned out main drain to house ensuring no back up within entire house. Electrical: Installed Gfi plugs wherever necessary. Installed carbon monoxide/fire sensors throughout house, including garage. Removed old light fixtures and installed recessed lights in bathroom ceiling. Installed new light fixture in entrance of home. Removed old lights around perimeter of house and installed outdoor security lights. Removed old appliances in kitchen; installed new oven, gas stove top, new washer and electrical dryer. Master bedroom fixed recessed lighting that was not working, also installed magnification mirror at makeup area. Replaced garage door opener that was not working and made sure that all remotes were programmed and working, five in total. Tile Work: Finished tile work in home that was started by another contractor and left unfinished. Was very concerned that work would not match up but Karl completed job beautifully! And Karl was very, very conscientious in making sure there was no grout debris left on tile, unlike previous work that was done. Karl cleaned previous workers tiles and sealed tile whereas other contractor left undone. Went throughout house and fixed any missing grout from tile work done in previous years, with good match up. In one bathroom I didn't want the old tile removed but it was very dirty. He cleaned up tile to look new. Cleaned up all tile in bathroom shower stalls. Replaced grout on veranda outside kitchen. Paint: Karl's paint work was clean and concise. If I wasn't happy with any of his work, he would go back and do as asked with a very positive attitude because he wanted me to be happy. It was all about what I wanted, not what he wanted. Always with a smile and concern for my feelings. Stucco and Grout Outside Home: Steps and railing leading to front door were badly damaged due to earth settlement. Filled all cracks and secured railing. Filled all hairline cracks wherever necessary on outside of home and repainted. General Construction: Changed out all hardware on all doors throughout house. Built me 3 closets, one in former office which I turned into a bedroom. In family room I had 2 closets, one he redid into a space for an office installing electrical and bringing in lines for Internet connection. He then took an office desk for the computer that I had in office, cut it down to fit within closet therefore creating an office within closet whereby I could close doors when finished working. Installed all computer equipment, wifi, printers, etc. The other closet he built shelves and coat rack, all from scratch. Cleaned all my kitchen cabinets and put a clear coat on for shine. Cleaned and polished all laminate countertops in kitchen for shine to bring back luster. Installed water filtration system in kitchen. Hung new rods for curtains in bedrooms. Cleaned all vents and replaced air filters in whole house. Inventoried all keys to all doors and had copies made and labeled for all doors throughout home. Installed security locks to pool room and sliding glass doors leading to balcony off kitchen for child-proofing. General, General: Karl is a jack of all trades and can do ANYTHING. He also does computer work, can solve or come up with any solution that you may have a problem with. He thinks outside the box. If you know how to ask and communicate, be clear and concise with what you want done, be honest in your request for a job done, Karl is YOUR MAN. He is EXTREMELY FAIR, has a CONSCIENCE! and wants to please. Your responsibility is to be those things in kind. Karl is a huge find. I kept him working for about a year because there were so many things to be done. I actually and honestly was sad that the project ended. Karl is now my go to because I turned my house into a rental. He is on call for any and all projects because I know that he is reliable and trustworthy.
Mark was wonderful to work with. He responded quickly to messages on Thumbtack and via text. He was punctual and flexible with our schedule. He walked through everything with us, listened to our concerns and needs, and worked with us to stay within our budget and timing, and sequenced projects accordingly. He also has a great sense of humor and was pleasant to talk with. We were very happy with his work and the work of the professionals he worked with for electrical, plumbing, and painting. The work that was done: removal and replacement of 2 windows, walls, and flooring where there was water damage, wood rot, and the start of mold; adding a door to access the space under the front stairs and creating a storage space with tiled floor and drywall; waterproofing / sealing the brick of our front steps and porch; removing carpeting and laminate flooring and installation of new laminate flooring; installing siding on the front of our house and painting of the front of the house (2 stories); texturizing and painting walls; installing a wet bar / kitchenette; replacing shower pan, tile, and shower door; removal of tree and bushes in front yard. I think that’s everything. We highly recommend Mark and would happily work with him again.
