Was pleased to use Ricky/Valenz Construction for a painting project at our company offices. He was super helpful coming out and giving us an estimate, sourcing our paint, and worked around our staffing hours for the project, and even came back to do a quick patch/paint repair to fix an error that we made. Their staff is insured and gets work comp benefits which made me feel good working with this company.Dec 11, 2019Verified
Ricky and his team were awesome!! They were not only punctual but very clean. They painted a 2b1ba apartment in a 1905 building for me that the tenants just vacated, the before and after was amazing. I would call them again in a heart beat. Used the best Sherwin Williams paint too. Didn't skimp on anything. Margaret Coldwell BankerJul 24, 2019Verified
Drywall Repair and Texturing
Ricky and his team at Valenz Construction did an amazing job taking down a dozen or so white boards that were adhered to our conference room walls. There was a crazy amount of patch work to be done and his team really knocked it out and made it look amazing in preparation for getting the office painted. Ricky was super professional and very friendly and his team was awesome. If we ever have work to be done in the future I know who to call!Apr 18, 2019Verified
Ricky did a great job adding some additional storage and a workstation in our garage/laundry area, which required re-framing, painting, and some carpentry work. He was easy to work with, a great communicator, able to do the work in a timely manner and we are very happy with the results. We would hire him again and recommend him highly!Jun 26, 2017Verified
My wife and I highly, HIGHLY recommend Ricky, David, and the whole Valenz Construction family! From the first meeting until the final day, Ricky was knowledgeable, handy, responsive, responsible, courteous, friendly, the list goes on. Long story short, the remodeling of the entire front exterior of our house (as well as painting the entire exterior of the house) went remarkably smooth, and any hiccups that occurred, Ricky was there to immediately address and fix. We will be using them for any other renovations and are so happy to have gotten to know Ricky and his family. This was the first renovation we’ve ever done, and like everyone else, we were pretty worried about the costs of construction and getting involved with a bad contractor (we have heard so many bad stories). We actually had a contractor before Valenz Construction, but we did not feel he was willing to take the time to walk us through all the details, costs, and concerns we had about the project, he was more of a “my way or the highway” type, so we parted ways with him. My advice here is to trust your intuition on hiring contractors. You can terminate your relationship with them any time until they start breaking ground. Ricky, on the other hand, on our first meeting was warm and engaging and willing to slowly walk us through all the steps and how he would go about doing the remodel. Every step of the process with Ricky was great: the estimate included a breakdown of all costs, a timeline of each step to get to completion, and an estimated time of completion (they finished on time!). His costs as compared with other estimates we got were very reasonable and transparent. When the work finally started, Ricky and his dad, David, and his team of brothers and other workers were all incredibly friendly to us and our neighbors, and were very respectful of our property, cleaning up every day. David kept my worries in check, telling me not to worry about the process, that they had it under control, and walked me through any questions I had. Any questions that they had of me, they would also offer recommendations if I asked, and were very patient with my lack of knowledge about so many nuances of construction. We had one hiccup when a subcontractor did the concrete demolition and broke an underground pipe but didn’t tell anyone and then covered it in freshly poured concrete. Ricky felt terrible, but took full ownership and said whatever additional costs were incurred to fix the issue, his company would pay for it. They fixed the issue in one day, and we were moving forward. Amazing. I’ll note that sometimes problems will come up that are up to the homeowner to cover. For example, we didn’t know that there was no plyboard underneath the stucco on our house, so once the stucco was demo’d out, we had to install plyboard before we put up the siding, which was an additional unknown cost to us, but something that had to be done. My wife and I really can’t say enough about Valenz Construction. We have gotten SO many compliments on our house, and it’s all thanks to these guys for helping us craft our vision into reality. They’ve gotten a lot of deserved recommendations from our neighbors, and we hope you will take this recommendation to heart as well. One last thing that I have not mentioned specifically about Ricky, David, and Valenz Construction is integrity. Every interaction and every cost or additional item discussed was detailed in full and I always felt they were working in my best interests to do the best thing at the right cost. It’s really hard to know when you have someone with integrity in the construction business because it’s so easy to change things here and there that will add costs to the homeowner over time, but after working with Ricky and his family, I always felt that their integrity led them to do their jobs the right way all the time. 5 Stars and more for Valenz Construction, you’re the best!! P.S. If you’re curious, Valenz Construction was responsible for all work on the remodel of the house except the following – all of whom, by the way, I have provided 5 Star reviews because they were amazing as well!
