Ryan has worked with hundreds of dog breeds from big to small, puppy to senior and everything in between. While he studied to obtain his BA from San Francisco State University in May of 2010, Ryan managed at Dog Boarding and Day Care Facilities in San Francisco. Ryan founded Sunset Animal Care LLC in the Outer Sunset neighborhood in San Francisco where he walked dogs in Golden Gate Park and Ocean Beach. Now, back in his hometown of Ann Arbor for over 20 years, Ryan and Sunset Animal Care LLC have a very special opportunity for you and your pets. Sunset Animal Care LLC offers in-home pet sitting where your animals can relax in the comfort of their own home while you are away. We also offer dog walking and can walk your dog solo or socialize them with our pack. We owned a very high energy young dog (Oliver) and some days we needed assistance with getting him the additional exercise he required. Ryan was an amazing addition to Oliver's weekly routine! I was very picky in selecting a caretaker for our baby boy, and I could tell that Ryan truly cared for every animal's best interest. There were many times he went above and beyond the scope of his duties. Ryan took him on scenic and long hikes. I really appreciated the pictures and text updates that Ryan sends me about their adventures, it makes me feel really at ease that our baby boy was in good hands. Oliver came home both mentally and physically exercised, it made such a huge impact on his demeanor. Another service that Ryan offers is care visits while we are away overnight or for extended time during the day. At first I was worried about leaving our Oliver home alone overnight, but after trying this service out it has been a useful and convenient option for us. When we come home we could tell that Oliver is not anxious or stressed. Having someone we can count on to take care of our baby boy has definitely added more flexibility to the social lives of two working parents!

My husband and I were going away just before Thanksgiving and were looking for options for our cat Onyx. After doing some research on Yelp, we came across Suset Animal Care. It had excellent reviews and we decided to try it out. After exchanging several emails with Ryan, he came to our house to meet Onyx and us. He was so sweet and nice and Onyx took to him right away. Ryan took notes of all the things we were telling him and asked a lot of questions (which was great). He took care of Onyx for 5 days and every time we sent him a text message to see how things were going, he quickly answered them. It was nice to know that someone caring was taking care of our cat in our own home and that he was not put on additional stress while we were away. When we got home, Onyx looked great, his litter was clean and Ryan even put all the food cans in the recycling bins outside! I would recommend Ryan in a heartbeat and will definitively use his services again.

I absolutely trust Ryan to care for my dog! I first met Ryan at a doggie-daycare facility in San Francisco where we send our dog for play a few times a week. Once he branched out on his own, we sent our dog (an energetic pup!) to board with him for long weekend getaways. Ryan is caring and responsible and I always felt completely confident that our dog would be well attended to and cared for at Ryan's. We miss him in SF!
