Introduction: Fully Vaccinated!! -B.S. Canine Studies, Bergin University of Canine Sudies. -AKC certified Canine Good Citizen and S.T.A.R. puppy trainer -Experience raising, training, troubleshooting, placing service dogs, and testing placed service dogs for a Non-profit service dog organization -Experience with behavior modification for shelter dogs and for private clients. -Fun to work with technique based on rewards, self-corrections by the dogs, and verbal guidance or corrections as necessary. -Maybe the best ever at teaching loose leash walking 🙂 -I don't lie and claim to be an Animal Behaviorist or behavior specialist (that requires a PhD, if somebody says they are a behaviorist ask if they have their PhD) My name is Brian Grasberger and I am a dog trainer that uses positive reinforcement with a decreasing random reward schedule. I work to train the trainer so that you have the tools to communicate with your dog and effectively lead them. I will show you how to get your point across and build a relationship with your dog based on your leadership, their love, and the occasional treat. I was taught at Bergin University of Canine Studies where I received a B.S. in Canine Studies and studied under Bonnie Bergin, the founder of Service Dogs in the United States, and Laurel Scarioni, master trainer of scent detection and nose work who’s dog has won national competitions. My education involved learning how to train; service dogs, obedience, rally, agility, nose work, hunting, search and rescue, and of course pet classes and behavior modification. While earning my degree I housed and trained several service dogs and saw them placed with disabled clients. Through my course work I also volunteered helping train and rehabilitate dogs at the Sonoma Humane Society and the Rohnert Park Animal Shelter, which was both rewarding and heartbreaking. After graduating I took a position as Puppy-Raiser-Manager and on site dog trainer for a non-profit service dog organization called Canine Support Teams in Meniffe. While there I helped oversee the training of our service dog candidates by our puppy raisers, ran classes and private lessons, and trained dogs to do specific tasks needed by our clients. I picked out the puppies to become service dogs and scoured the local shelters and humane societies for possible service dog candidates. I also taught and oversaw a work training program at South West Juvenal Hall in Temecula, that I am very proud of, which involved teaching a small group of kids the skills of dog training while they raised and trained some of our service dog candidates for short periods in hopes that they might peruse it as a profession one day. The program won a state award and I believe it actually did help some kids and dogs. Since leaving Canine Support Teams I have been teaching classes and doing private lessons for clients with pet dogs and service dogs with great results, check out my reviews ☺

Brian is amazing. Our Aussie needed a refresher and boy did he get one. He not only trains the dog but he trains the owners too. He helps us with our confidence with your dog and his behavior. Brian is worth every penny and then some. If you’re looking for a pro that is real and down to earth....Brian is your man.

Dog Training

Brian is hands down the BEST trainer I have ever had the pleasure of working with. We were having issues with our 1 year old blue heeler/cattle dog being aggressive with strangers and bolting out of the house. Brian identified her issues and help us train them out, and improved her basic commands and leash walking all in a few lessons! He is wonderful with dogs and wonderful with their people! He even went the extra mile during the pandemic to come to our home, in a mask, and worked outside to keep everyone involved safe. Thank you Brian!

Great first impression. Showed great professionalism, charisma, insight, and immediate evidence of successful training. Most of all, patient and helpful for the owners as well.

Dog Training

Bryan is knowledgeable, observant, and assiduous, and it shows. Within minutes he had my 10 week old Australian Shepherd motivated and doing a handful of commands—as if the puppy has known all of them all along! He was very patient given the short attention spans of puppies. We also did activities in which we all partook in so that both my puppy and I are learning how to communicate and work together as well, with positive reinforcement. He was also adaptive and adjusted the training to fit the environment and did not just focus on teaching commands. Not only that, but he’s also given me so many useful tips and informatively answered all my questions and he builds on what I already knew—this has been so helpful especially for a new puppy parent! I told him I wasn’t able to continue lessons in the meantime as we originally planned due to unrelated reasons. Bryan was understanding and still took the time to check in and remind me of what we need to be practicing precisely and how/when I should positively reinforce so that we are successful. I cannot wait until the next session. I plan to continue them soon. In the meantime, we’ll be still be practicing and doing our homework from Bryan!

Dog Training

Brian from Temecula Best Friend Dog Training helped with our newly rescued St. Bernard, Molly. Molly decided to get along with one of our other dogs but not our third dog. Brian Helped us to understand what was going on in Molly's head and what what we could do to help the situation. He trained us to train Molly and things are going so much better. He calls to see how things are going, and then gives more tips on how to proceed. I would highly recommend Brian for anyone who is looking for a caring professional trainer for their fur baby.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

$95 for a lesson, lessons last at least an hour and up to an hour and a half. Discounted rate of $495 for 6 private lessons if paid for in advance. $150 per lesson for dogs with aggression issues ------------- Boarding $65 per dog per day I board dogs for one client at a time in my home where they live with me as if the were my pets. They have access to AC and a nice sized yard and have my well mannered young lab to play with. Please bring your own food and payment is due at drop off. *in cases where a dog has aggression I will not be able to board the dog because of the danger to my dog.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I'll set up an the initial training and consultation in their home where we identify problems and goals. In the consultation I work with the dog and owner and set time tables as best I can for how I think the training will progress and exercises that will need to be accomplished, which we begin immediately in that lesson. If the client would like we will then set up our future lesson dates at the end of the lesson. Most of the time after 6 lessons results are evident and the owner has enough skill to continue to strengthen what we worked on with out my help, or with just a bit of advice over the phone or through text.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

B.S. from Bergin University of Canine Studies. I' ve worked with 11 different trainers teaching me their methods. 150+ hours voulenteer training at Sonoma Humane society and Rohnert Park City pound I've personally helped more than 50 people learn how to use, or help them train their service dog As Puppy-Raiser-Manager I helped our many voulenteer puppy-raisers to train socialize and raise about 80 service dogs in training from puppy hood through the teenage phase till age of 18 months when the dogs were ready to begin final training. Experienced and accomplished trouble-shooting behavioral problems for pet dog owners.
