- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I attended a Swedish massage class while living on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. The teacher asked me to stay after the initial class at which time she stated that I have a gift for the work and would mentor me if I would assist with all her classes. This was a wonderfully fulfilling experience that continued for 3 years.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Check that your therapist has a current license and is insured. Then check with DORA (Department of Regulatory Agencies) to be sure there are no complaints.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
It is an honor and a privilege to touch people. I am a member of ABMP (Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals). Our code of ethics requires the utmost integrity and respect for personal boundaries. It takes trust to let a stranger touch you. Thank you for trusting me.
