FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes, I do. The pricing system is listed on my website. The system uses your level, location, and frequency of lessons to determine a rate. And, similar to a gym, you can buy a punch card to avoid dealing with payment each lesson and to get a discount on the per hour rate.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in Spanish language, and I graduated Cum Laude from University of Denver in 2012. I have traveled in South and Central America, and I studied abroad in Madrid in the winter of 2012. I am strongly considering Certification in Spanish Language. My current role in Customer Service calls for me to speak and write Spanish with our clients, and my past role involved teaching English and Spanish while also growing the Business Development arm of a language startup in Denver for 6 months at the end of 2014.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I actually started off with one student from Craiglist when I was working for ShareLingo, a language start-up in Denver, and found that there were people in my area looking for a private Spanish tutor. Between Thumbtack and my website, as well as personal referrals, the business grew from there, to where I have now taught close to 40 different students since last November, many of which I still meet with weekly!
