Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: My work with dogs is science-based, force free, and doesn't rely on aversive techniques such as shock collars, leash jerks, cans full of pennies, etc. Your dog will learn to LOVE training and responding to you! What I like most about my job is watching people and their dogs learn to communicate with one another in a way they haven't been able to before. I love to watch them fall in love with their dogs again!

Carie was truly wonderful! She immediately comforted me by getting to know my dog before we even met, and I got a great sense that she has a grasp on his social behaviors that needed correcting. She then worked her busy schedule into our busy schedule to come to our house and have a one-on-one training session. She tapped into my dogs brain and could see what was troubling him within the first session, and gave us easy tools to keep up his training with. The next day we were already seeing improvement in his behavior. We will be sure to have her back out for some fine tuning. Her prices are also very affordable for the services she offers. She really is miracle worker! Thank you, Carie!

Becky, thank YOU so much! Roo was so fun to work with -- such a fast learner! And he's a lucky boy -- he really hit the jackpot having you two for his family. It was such a pleasure to train with you. Many thanks, Becky!

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I graduated with distinction from the Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training and Behavior. Since then, I have continued to hone my skills and take at least 12 hours of continuing education each year in cutting edge canine behavior solutions, ethology, training methods, etc.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask about the methods that will be used on your dog. The American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior, and the Association of Pet Dog Trainers have come out against using aversive methods (shock collar, choke chain, leash pops, penny cans, etc.) because of the risks. Among those risks are the inhibition of learning, increasing fear in the, and/or stimulating aggressive events that would not have otherwise occurred.
