Sara did a beautiful job with Anthony and I's engagement photos in Rocky Mountain National Park. She was punctual and flexible with the time frame of the shoot. Sara also really made sure to find several beautiful places for us to take photos and the final products were professional and just like I had dreamed. Thank you, Sara! I would 100% recommend her.Dec 20, 2018Verified
I hired Sara to take pictures for our son's very spontaneous and surprise engagement. This was done during an outside dinner sleight ride with poor lighting. Sara did an amazing job of capturing whatever pictures she could to make the moment memorable. She did a great job of editing the pictures that were taken outside in poor lighting. Sara even stayed after the event and took an opportunity to get more staged shots taken inside of my son and his new fiancè, plus our entire family. Sara was very accommodating and easy to work with. We were very happy with the outcome and HIGHLY RECOMMEND SARA.Dec 31, 2015Verified
A++++ My home (Bet Kelev - The House of Dog) is done in K9 Judaic and it has been featured in the Rocky Mtn News when it was around. At one time Bet Kelev was to be featured on HGTV - but the series was cancelled. I treasure the oil paintings of my dogs past and present and have a major portrait of each generation gracing the living room wall. I have, in the past, spared little expense on these portraits - hiring 'big name' hotsy totsy well well known photographers. Now please don't get me wrong, I am not unhappy with the portrait of Moolah, Buddy, Ricki and Nicki nor the one of Moses, Elle and Max. But... The portrait just done by Sarah DeGroot is terrific - in a different league. Capturing black standard poodles is no small feat - and the portrait was done in the living room - not a studio unlike the others - and quite frankly far far superior - and far far less costly. (She should raise her rates!) Also note a close friend who represented nationally the Pentax account (when it was Number 1 in the US) who knows photography - was very impressed as doing black dogs 'is very very difficult.' He explained why technically but I still have no idea - other than this is the best portrait of my dogs - period. Photographing black dogs let alone my Sinai Standard poodles (Reb Simcha & Her Ladyship Goodie)is difficult - just think how well Sara would do with even easier subjects and less demanding guardians than this Man of Dog for family portraits Would I hire Sara again? Sara is amazing. She made us feel so comfortable and the resulting photos exceeded our expectations. We loved working with her for our engagement photos and look forward to having her capture all the best moments of our wedding.Nov 28, 2018Verified
Sara was awesome! I did what I think everyone else does and took researching to google to find someone I trusted for engagement photos. Over and over again looking over work that was “OK” to me. Then I found apricity images! I am very particular about pictures, even do some of my own, and she exceeded my expectation so far beyond! Our photos came out so wonderful and the quality is undeniable! I am so please to have these forever and excited to show them off! Sara was so relaxed and easy to photograph with, and gave us the chance to incorporate our on vision and cleaned it up with her expertise. You’ll be paying for exactly what you want, and what you’re getting (amazing photos)! Recommendation: 10/10, have her do your photos! Thanks so much Sara!Oct 28, 2018Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? When we were planning our own wedding, I HATED when vendors I liked didn't list a price and only said "call for more information". I like to be very up-front about my pricing, which is why I include everything on my website.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I first like to speak over the phone or email to make sure the basics are a good match. Do you like my general style? Am I available on your date? If so, I like meeting people in person for a coffee (or beer) if possible. A lot of people are traveling to Colorado for their event, so sometimes that part has to be done via Skype. I have a few questions I like to ask, but mostly I just want to hear about you. What are your plans for the day? What are your personalities like? Are you extroverted and energetic, or more reserved and serious? What are you most looking forward to? It's really important to work with someone you feel like you'll be able to be yourself around during the wedding day, so I feel like this is an important chance for both of us to get a sense of whether this will be a good fit.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I've attended several photography workshops, am active in quite a few photography forums and educational groups, have shot over 100 weddings, and have poured literally thousands of hours into practice, personal work, educational literature and videos, and professional competitions.
