FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, with new clients, I start with a short phone consultation followed by a free in-home consultation to assess and discuss the project and determine if we are a good match. For large projects I write up an action plan and we get the project started. I work alongside the client, setting up systems that make sense to them. Typically, work sessions are three hours long. I can also work independently if the situation calls for it.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Over 25 years of practice.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
As a teenager I was part of a riding organization that would have competitions which included being judged on tack room organization. We would set up a temporary tack room inside the back of a two horse trailer, holding equipment for four horses and their riders. It was so much fun coming up with creative solutions to hang bridles and saddles where there was no system for that in place. Our teams were rewarded with high marks and often won that section of the competition. My mother is a bit of a packrat and loves to hold onto things, especially paperwork. Since my early 20's she has been hiring me to organize her papers as well as her cupboards, garage, closets, kitchen and more. During several years of traveling I would stay at friends and family and wherever I stayed I would always get asked to help with space planning or re-organizing their homes ... I eventually decided gave it a business name "Organize Lotus" - if I were to give it a motto it would be "Rising Above the Muck and the Mire to Live in a space we love" Organizing has come naturally - my hands just know what to do. Once I get started, magic happens.
