About
I teach yoga for individuals and classes in homes and studios. Customizing classes to the needs of each small group is my special talent. I utilize yin, hatha, vinyasa flow, and yoga therapy techniques. Smaller classes allow for awareness of individual needs and progress.
I am able to observe individual students and assess their needs for breath, alignment, flexibility and strength. I use clear, concise cues to guide students through an appropriate yoga practice that includes meditation, pranayama and a beautiful flow of postures. I found small group teaching very rewarding.

I took Eleanor's class for several years--even following her to gyms a few miles farther than my local site--because she is excellent! Everything you want in a yoga instructor: skilled and knowledgeable, in-tune to needs of the class, soothing voice and affect, caring about her students and continually improving her own practice, which she brings along to her own classes. Eleanor was sorely missed by many, many yogis in our classes when she moved out of state. She is hard--if not impossible--to replace!

Eleanor is a wonderful person - inside and out - and it reflects in her teaching. She puts her heart and soul into her classes and really cares about each student. She was one of the best instructors I've had in my 32 years of fitness classes.

I'm so glad we found Eleanor. A friend and I have our own private yoga instructor! She accommodates our needs in terms of schedule, our yoga experience (little to none) and all our aches and pains. We work on the things that we feel are important (balance, flexibility, building stamina, breathing). Every week is a little different and we are building our repertoire to eventually bring us to the full Sun Salutation. She has a wonderful calming personality and we feel so wonderful after each class. We are so grateful to have her.

I participate in Eleanor’s yoga classes and have also had Reiki sessions with her. She has a calm and sensitive approach toward her students as well as her Reiki clients.
Eleanor creates a warm and calm environment for yoga classes by dimming the lights and having soft, beautiful music playing in the background. Her voice is gentle. She is aware of everyone in the room and offers helpful guidance to individual students. She ends yoga classes by playing beautiful, meditative melodies on her flute, as she is also an accomplished musician.
I highly recommend Eleanor’s yoga classes and Reiki sessions, which are very relaxing and beneficial!

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system depends on whether the class is held at my location or theirs. If travel is involved, then I charge more for that service.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My first priority when getting to know a new customer is to find out exactly what results they want from their classes, or Reiki session. It's so important to get a clear picture of the client and their needs. Information about injuries, movement limitations and the style of yoga that they feel drawn to say a lot about how to plan the first few classes. Some clients leave the style of yoga choice to me, which I also really enjoy because then I can fine tune therapeutic yoga just for their individual needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
After a long career as an elementary music teacher/private flute studio director, I began doing teacher training in various types of yoga. I started teaching yoga and meditation in 2012 and just finished an advanced, 300 hr. yoga teacher training completing over 700 hrs. Since that first yoga teacher training, I've completed many more at every chance I get. I've been in the teaching field for over 30 years. Starting with a Bachelor's and Master's of Music in Education and flute performance. I taught elementary Music in the public school system for 24 years. I had a private flute studio for 20 years.
