Paula went above and beyond during my very messy divorce, she provided caring and professional mediation during a really hard time. Paula diffused very tense situations and helped us come to a workable agreement. I highly recommend Paula!

Over all good. Little things were not very organized and caught small correction errors.

I have been mediating cases for over eleven years. In that time I have mediated over 2,200 cases including court ordered cases for the counties of Arapahoe, Denver, Douglas and Elbert counties. Areas mediated include but are not limited to county & district civil, domestic relations and real estate disputes. Private mediations run the complete gambit of dispute resolution. Most cases can be mediated in a couple of hours. Many mediations (over 60%) have eliminated the need for the parties to go to trial because the parties have found enough areas of agreement and compromise to resolve their problems without the need of a trial. While it is not my role to resolve your matters, it is my role to guide through the process of determining if there is a appropriate resolution which avoids the need for litigation or a trial. As a mediator I do not make any decisions but rather help keep the conversation moving. On a few occasions I have arbitrated a case to resolution for the parties. I am a neutral which means I do not take sides.

Because I have been through the drama of divorce and know the trauma brought on by this major life change, I can help from a standpoint of experience. I can assist you through what is arguably the most difficult if not tumultuous time in your life so that your interests are protected. Most of all, we will advocate on behalf of your children so that their true best interests are preserved.

I use financial modeling tools to help people to understand their financial situation and make good and fair decisions about division of their assets and liabilities, spousal support, child support, taxes, and child related expenses. I use a facilitative problem solving non-adversarial approach to help parties reach fair agreements. I understand how expensive divorce can be and try to provide a cost effective service to people who want to work together to reach settlement. I also prepare Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs) which are court orders needed to divide many retirement plans.

I am a specialist in divorce mediation. I have ruled on divorces for 23 years in Douglas County. I am a divorce lawyer before going on the bench in 1986. I am retired from the state of Colorado in 2009. I am a sitting municipal judge for Castle Rock, Lone Tree, Castle Pines North and Larkspur. I have ruled on approximately 14000 divorces. I graduated from Drake University School of Law in 1982.
