Jeff was extremely nice and easy going. He finished our hardwood floors and did an amazing job. The color he mixed for the stain is gorgeous. I would recommend him for sure!!Feb 12, 2017Verified
Railing Installation or Remodel
So, I found this company through Thumbtack to install railings for my home because I just got new floors put in previously. I had the materials which were standard posts I made myself and plumbing pipe because my wife wanted a more industrial style look. My first impression after the estimate was this company seems like they will do a great job and seem very professional. So a date was set to start the project and my wife and I were very excited to get this project going. During the just signing the contract and payment option I had a few questions about it and in the email that was sent to me it said if you have any questions please contact us and we will get back to you. So I contacted twice and never heard anything back. Next the date was start to set and there was something that came up and that is fine because I know life happens and I understand. The thing is that this was the second time they said they were going to contact me first thing in the morning and we can reschedule and no call. I call to try get a date and move things along. Finally after the project started they said they would start around 8 am. This was not the case and they started at 10:45 the first day. The project was said to take 1 or 2 days at most but lingered on for for 4 full days and had very late starts everyday. The communication was very poor on there end and the ending result was ok I guess. Not to mention the contractor was on the phone 60% of the day (No wonder the project lingered). I understand you have business calls and have a business to run but this was a little ridiculous and was not professional by any means. There are many imperfections but he did come back and fix some things when I asked him to. The posts to my railings were very lop-sided and he did not seem thrilled about re-doing them. Also some of my railings were held against the wall by hot glue.... I understand nothing is going to be perfect but I am paying you for the job and at the same time need it safe for kids as well. Overall the experience was not the greatest but again this is my opinion and your experience could be completely different. Pros - Came back to fix Negatives - Very poor Communication, rushed work, on phone an abundance of time, etc.May 20, 2019VerifiedCreations Hardwoods's reply
We knew when we accepted this project it was not going to be a guid fit based on the quality of materials involved, etc. That was certainly our mistake. We are sorry you felt the service was not up to the quality all of our other customers agree on. In spite of the challenges, iit has been a pleasure working with you. Thank you so much. Sincerely, Jeff & Stacy Romero

- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? When working with a new customer, it is critical to understand their preferences, the type of work they want done, and the project environment. During the initial contact, we schedule an on-site estimate. During that visit, we can inspect the existing flooring, measure the area, and discuss options. We typically send the estimate to you by e-mail the same day, or first thing in the morning on the next business day. Once the estimate is accepted, a contract is signed and date set to begin project We will discuss ways we can make the duration of the project as convenient as possible and appreciate being invited guests in your home. We do require a 50% down payment on all work performed. The balance is due upon completion of the project. Together, we can select materials, color, etc. and as soon as the materials are available will begin the project. We are experienced in the trade and firmly believe in preparing a customer for the project, what to expect from he contractors, what to expect from the floor itself, and discuss if there is something we are not able to accomplish. We believe in reliability and promptness as well. During the project there are times when the customer will not be able to walk on their floor. During those times, we will establish the best way to complete the project while respecting your lifestyle. When the project is complete, you will be asked to sign a certificate of completion and payment is due at that time. We give you instructions on caring for your floor and make a point to answer any questions. In the event that the homeowner finds an issue with the floor, Creations Hardwoods does offer a 1 year warranty on workmanship. We will honor our agreement. I hope this explains the process a little bit. We look forward to meeting you!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I began working with my father's business as a teenager and continued working with my brothers until starting Creations Hardwoods. I learned my trade on the job, and family or not, I believe they are the best in the business. But more important than the skill of the trade, I learned the value of customer service. Creations Hardwoods strives to make your project as smooth and convenient as possible.
