FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've worked 10 years in NYC as a freelance photographer, photography studio manager, assistant photographer, and editorial photographer for two magazines. My education includes an A.A.S. Commercial Photography, an M.A. Organizational Development & Leadership, and B.A. Psychology.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
While in NYC most of the portrait/headshot customers were musicians, models, and other artists. I did test shots and "comp cards" photography for new talent with several model agencies in NYC. Some work for the artists involved photographing collections of art work, other photography was for headshots of the artists. Two clients were Cover Magazine, (arts and entertainment in the NYC area) and Plan Sponsor (investment advising magazine.) Other work has been tabletop still life product work for e-commerce sites, and classic portraits and group photos for families and events.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask questions about the photographer's portfolio - how they made the set, lighting, use of props or models, etc. I personally believe confident photographers enjoy explaining the details and technical processes.
