Families come from a variety of situations- foster care and adoption, military, immigrants.
People are the experts on their inner world. And they are smart and know how to look up ways to help themselves.
So yes, I do include traditional treatment modalities in therapy, such as play therapy, CBT, DBT, solution focused, etc.
Another modality is called Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Further, I have found that adding complementary treatments enhances the healing process, and therefore also offer complementary treatments such as Reiki (stress reduction to promote healing), aromatherapy, sound healing life coaching, and intuitive readings.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), have worked as a Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC), and am a level 2 Reiki, working on my master level in the Usui System of Natural Healing.
