FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our minimum price is $1,450 which covers anything up to 1,000 sf. We charge an extra $1/sf above 1,000sf. There is a discount for multiple units, and an added fee for excessive amounts of content. We cover a five state region and if travel requires an overnight stay we charge an extra $1/mile.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We attend all the major bed bug conferences across the country. Bed bugs are a new industry and the research is changing what we "know" often. Listening to the latest research one year to the next makes you appreciate how little is really known about bed bugs. One entomologist explained the bed bug infestation in the US is only in the top of the first inning - It will get much worse before it gets much better.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
The birth of Heat Treat was back in 2009 - back then only a few even heard of bed bugs. My wife property managed 1,300 units - one had bed bugs, after a pesticide company treated, she had 4 units with bed bugs. The pesticide company was called back in, did the same thing with the same result. now 8 units were infested. My wife called an entomologist at CSU. He said the only thing working on bed bugs was heat. She said great where can I get heat. He said he had no idea. Heat Treat was born. We treated all 8 units with no re-occurrence or spread of infestation. We've been busy buying equipment ever since. Four years later CSU, and many universities, institutions, and residential clients use our services. We are now referred by Entomologist, The Dept of Agriculture, Property Managers, Bed bug K9 detectives, Housing Authorities, etc.
