Heat Treat, Inc
About this pro
Most importantly Heat Treat IS NOT A GENERAL EXTERMINATOR! Bed bug eradication is what we do .. BED BUG ERADICATION IS ALL WE DO! With that commitment comes two significant points of differentiation from most exterminators in the market. 1.) Heat Treat works diligently to maintain a current level of education and process improvement as it pertains to bed bug eradication. This includes staying current with the proven science that is developing with bed bug evolution and their potential resistance to treatment methods (specifically their resistance to chemical treatments). There is no resistance to heat ... when applied correctly and completely it is 100% guaranteed lethal! 2.) Beyond our commitment to education, Heat Treat is one of the few companies in the Rocky Mountain region that has invested in the most contemporary and effective equipment available in the industry: Manufactured by TEMP-AIR, 460v electric UL approved and labeled heaters that were engineered and designed specifically for bed bug thermal remediation. The total investment for these heaters, fans, portable electricity generator, electrical distribution, and heat monitoring equipment is nearly $500,000. With that level of financial commitment there is simply no room for sub-standard service or performance. Heat Treat must be effective at killing bed bugs effectively with a single treatment or we risk our reputation and financial solvency. It is a very HOT terrible job but it is technical and uses pretty sophisticated expensive UL approved equipment - about $250,000 worth of equipment per system. We have 3 of these systems that we work 7 days per week.

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? Our minimum price is $1,450 which covers anything up to 1,000 sf. We charge an extra $1/sf above 1,000sf. There is a discount for multiple units, and an added fee for excessive amounts of content. We cover a five state region and if travel requires an overnight stay we charge an extra $1/mile.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?We attend all the major bed bug conferences across the country. Bed bugs are a new industry and the research is changing what we "know" often. Listening to the latest research one year to the next makes you appreciate how little is really known about bed bugs. One entomologist explained the bed bug infestation in the US is only in the top of the first inning - It will get much worse before it gets much better.
- How did you get started doing this type of work? The birth of Heat Treat was back in 2009 - back then only a few even heard of bed bugs. My wife property managed 1,300 units - one had bed bugs, after a pesticide company treated, she had 4 units with bed bugs. The pesticide company was called back in, did the same thing with the same result. now 8 units were infested. My wife called an entomologist at CSU. He said the only thing working on bed bugs was heat. She said great where can I get heat. He said he had no idea. Heat Treat was born. We treated all 8 units with no re-occurrence or spread of infestation. We've been busy buying equipment ever since. Four years later CSU, and many universities, institutions, and residential clients use our services. We are now referred by Entomologist, The Dept of Agriculture, Property Managers, Bed bug K9 detectives, Housing Authorities, etc.
