- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It averages about $100/hr for the actual performance time window. Factors that add to cost are travel time, piano in house or provided by me, size of speaker system I need to bring, and time of year. December costs more than January, weekends more than weekdays. I try to stay in metro Denver. It is best to just chat with clients about what their budget and concept are and then work up or down depending on what needs to be done.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Well, there is always learning another song, that never changes. But e-marketing is becoming increasingly important. Music technology such as digital recording and new keyboards are things I put time into learning about.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
It is a job that PICKS YOU, not the other way around! In my case, I wanted a career that was not a 40 hour week.
