- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I typically discount my pricing for Thumbtack. Most of my rates are inclusive of editing unless otherwise stated (such as model portfolios). For instance, my popular headshot portrait package for $400 includes the session fee and 5 edited photos. From my experience this is everything you will need - simple and all-inclusive pricing. I publish all of my standard rates on my website for transparency.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I really like to set clear expectations. This requires understanding your motivation behind needing photos or video. I apply the same level of rigor understanding my business and individual customers. Overall my process is: 1. Initial phone call to discuss your requirements and logistics. Payment is also due in-full at this time. I send my invoices by email which can be paid securely online. 2. In some cases, I send out a pre-shoot survey to understand you further and determine if you need related services such as photo or material printing. 3. Day of the shoot 4. I send out a review gallery of the best photos that can be selected for editing. In the case of video, I send out an initial edit in a secure online review interface 5. Final selection and/or editing decisions are made by my customer 6. Final editing and delivery done through an online portal.

I make it a point to engage with online or local seminars almost every week, you never stop learning!
