About
Hello! Music is my entire life. Between a blues band, jazz and classical gigs, recording, and teaching I stay busy doing what I love. I have been teaching for many years with great results from my students. Below is my bio. I am a seasoned professional. I can literally teach and perform any style out there. My rates are on par or lower than any other private lessons in the state. Contact me to set up a lesson today! Cole Rudy Cole began playing guitar at age 12 and began teaching at age 18. At age 20 he moved to Denver and enrolled in the guitar performance program at the University of Colorado at Denver. While there, he was fortunate to study under some of the best jazz educators in the country, and to play in the best jazz ensembles in the university, earning his degree in Jazz Guitar Performance Studies with Magna Cum Laude honors in 2007. He has taught full-time for almost 5 years at schools in Denver and is always accepting new students. He has extensive experience with Children as well as teenagers and adults. Over the last 10 years Cole has been a member of many notable bands from Denver and has performed at almost every large and small venue in the City and surrounding areas. He has also performed many jazz gigs at restaurants, clubs, bars, weddings, retirement homes, and more. He has played in punk, ska, country, dixi-jazz, big band jazz, psych rock, salsa, gypsy jazz, classical, folk, and metal bands. Cole's current main project is a Blues band called Dragondeer in which he plays mandolin and lap steel. Please see the "Websites" tab for music from these projects. In 2009, The Westword named Cole "Denver's Best Guitar Hero". In 2009 he started the weekly Monday Jazz Jam at the Meadowlark Bar and in great thanks to many outstanding musicians and people that night has received from the Westword the title, "Denver's Best Jazz Jam" from 2009-2012. Cole continues to teach, perform, tour, and record on a daily basis, and is in no danger of stopping anytime soon.

Cole is the best guitar teacher I could have asked for! He's patient and knows exactly what does and doesn't work for students. It's like he knew all of my questions and issues before even I did! I recommend him to absolutely anyone looking for guitar lessons!

Cole is, simply put, a great teacher. He has been teaching my 7-year old guitar for two months and my son is both improving and deeply engaged practice. Plus, Cole is super cool and friendly.

Cole makes learning to play guitar fun! Not only does he teach guitar fundamentals and techniques that you constantly build on, but he lets you get outside of the box and teach you to play your favorite songs. Cole is very patient with novice students (like me), and he is very accommodating to my busy schedule. Highly recommended!

Cole is a wonderful guitar teacher for adults and children alike. He really makes music approachable and brings your lesson to life with so much enthusiasm. He is really knowledgeable across the board and whatever you're into he can teach ( not to mention the theory behind it ). Lessons are fun, affordable and very rewarding.

Find a teacher that you are comfortable with and who can excite you about the musical journey. I like to expose my students to artists they would find exciting. It is important to have musical heroes to look up to.
