FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My goal is to keep my clients from getting over charged without having to sacrifice quality. Let's leave the haggling behind and just let me know what your budget is and I will figure out how to keep that budget. All within reason of course. Sometimes budgets just don't allow for everything we want, but as long as we can have an open conversation and are both open minded the sky is the limit! For custom carpentry, my rate does not include materials, but I do my best to find the BEST deals on materials.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Open conversation is key - I will reach out via phone call unless an in person meeting is necessary. We will have a conversation about what you need and how I can help accomplish it. As long as everything aligns, it should be pretty straight forward.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
For finer work and general knowledge of woodworking tools and materials, I am a certified luthier. Specific training in string instrument repair and production, but the use of hand tools, large power tools such as belt sanders, drill presses, routers, and band saws is ubiquitous across my skill set.
