FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We believe in fair, straightforward pricing with no surprises. Every project is different, so our estimates are based on the specific scope of work, preparation required, materials, and overall condition of the surfaces being painted. We provide detailed estimates so you understand what is included before the project begins. Our goal isn’t to be the cheapest painter—it’s to provide a competitive price while delivering professional preparation, quality materials, skilled workmanship, and a finished product that lasts. We’re also happy to discuss different options or break larger projects into phases when it helps fit a customer’s budget.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our process starts with a conversation about your project and what you’re looking to accomplish. From there, we typically schedule a time for me to come out, meet with you, look at the project in person, discuss colors, finishes, preparation, and answer any questions you may have. After the walkthrough, we provide a detailed estimate outlining the scope of work and what is included. Once approved, we work with you to schedule the project and communicate what to expect before we begin. During the project, our team focuses heavily on preparation, protecting your home and belongings, maintaining a clean work area, and keeping you informed of our progress. Once the work is complete, we do a final walkthrough to make sure everything meets your expectations. From the first conversation to the final walkthrough, our goal is to make the entire painting process as easy and stress-free as possible.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My training comes from nearly two decades of hands-on experience in the painting industry. I started Brel’s Custom Painting in 2007 and have continued to build my knowledge through years of working on a wide variety of residential painting and finishing projects. That experience includes interior and exterior painting, staining, cabinet refinishing, drywall repair and texture matching, surface preparation, spraying techniques, and working with different coatings and finishes. I believe experience is one of the best forms of training in this industry. Over the years, I’ve learned what products, preparation methods, and application techniques work best to produce a professional finish that looks great and lasts.
