Matt helped me out with photos for my personal website. I must start by saying that I hate taking pictures. Mostly because I don't find myself very photogenic, but Matt made the process great. He took the time to listen to what I was looking for, went around with me to pick out locations, and provided pleanty of direction to help me look more natural and make the most of the photo shoot. Even though I only needed a couple photos, Matt provided me with about 15 fully edited photos that I now have for anything I might need them for. He also was able to get them to me quickly so I could have them posted on my site ASAP. My experience was fun, concise and very professional, and I would highly suggest Matt to anyone looking for photos of any sort.

I've had the pleasure of working together with Matt Pangman on numerous assignments over the span of the past two years. As a freelance writer and editor, finding immensely creative, yet steadfast and reliable photographers to collaborate with is easier said than done. However, I have found exactly that in Matt. As a photographer and videographer, Matt has an undeniable eye and vision—his creativity is unparalleled. But I believe it’s his work ethic, undying commitment to the art, and reliability that truly set him apart from the pack. No matter the project thrown at him, Matt is more than capable. Whether you’re collaborating on a project with built-in, specific guidelines, or are working on an ambiguous project with zero limitations on creative freedom, Matt excels. Matt is also gregarious people-person—he always considers the needs of clients during shoots, and executes projects with a level of unwavering professionalism and dedication. Matt is my go-to photographer for projects of all sizes.

I am a yoga teacher in Colorado and had the privilege of working with Matt Pangman over the course of a couple years. He is extremely professional and has an amazing ability to help people feel at ease in front of the camera, and an eye to capture the best. He is also extremely patient, which I believe is something that's very necessary in a good photographer, videographer, and editor. I would highly recommend Matt!

Matt was the cinematographer on a collection of short films I directed. He was always professional, calm, and collected. Matt wasn't afraid to put forth his ideas (which many of them I used), and was very quick and efficient with setting up the camera and lighting, taking direction very well. After working with Matt as a cinematographer, I had the luxury of going on a few photo shoots with Matt, once at a collegiate swimming event, and once on the Flatirons in Boulder, Colorado. Matt exhibited the same calming presence and has an eye for capturing an aesthetically pleasing composition. I would recommend Matt for any photography or video job.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to set up an initial meet up (coffee shops work best!) to discuss the client's vision, desired locations, and style. I find meeting in person, prior to the day of the shoot makes for a looser, more down-to-earth experience, which creates more natural and authentic photographs as a final product.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I've been shooting and editing video/photography since early high school. I studied Communications Media and English at IUP, where I was also a member of their Division II men's swim team. Following college, I moved out to Denver, where I worked with a video and photo production company downtown for 2 years. I've since been an independent photographer and videographer who absolutely loves what I do.
