FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I keep up with popular photography blogs and magazines. I take online courses with photographers such as Ben Sasso to continue to hone my skills and fine tune my image making. I use Instagram and Facebook as tools of not just promotion, but also inspiration and motivation. Much of my inspiration comes from the people I follow on Instagram in particular. I also am a firm believer in the importance of understanding the history of photography, and maintaining familiarity with historic photographers and their work.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
My best advice to any potential client is this: Never go with the cheaper option just for the sake of saving money. The key to getting the best work from a photographer is to connect and communicate with them in such a way that allows them to meet you where you're at and understand you well. I will always prefer dropping my price for a client who truly cannot afford my rate rather than sending them away to someone who isn't as passionate or dedicated to making their clients happy. Losing a client because of a disagreement on cost is a lose-lose for both parties - I lose the opportunity to build a relationship with the client and also lose the opportunity to deliver the work they truly deserve, and the customer loses quality and is forced to settle with a cheaper photographer. True photographers aspire to please people above all else. That is my heart and mission in doing what I do.
