- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
School trained, minor in American Lit. Multiple classes, corporate training, and twenty-seven years experience. .
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My organic chemistry professor was the first to use the phrase "technical writer." During organic synthesis & instrumental analysis, my lab reports were better than industry standards (he said). He recommended I keep my degree in a hard science, and I did. Developed my editing skills grading papers in the English Dept. Developed my writing skills with minor in American Literature. Also worked in the Theater three years, as a techy. Ran the glass lab, worked on a farm and as a plumber to support wife & baby (in college). Submitted engineering reviews to NASA for an orbital payload, and completed a soil erosion survey following a major wild land fire. Out of college, started in telecommunications with Bell Labs. I offer a broad scope of experience with an aptitude for the technology.
