FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Often there is a 20% design fee, 40% for materials and to get started and 40% upon completion.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
ou let me know what you are seeking. I will consult with you and ask questions about size, scale and level of detail. It is helpful if you also provide sample images or photos of the space at this point. I will send you a price estimate, including labor, materials and any rentals such as scaffolding. I ask for a deposit to have the materials ready for the job after the estimate is confirmed. Next I show up with my tools and supplies, prepare the space and get to work!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 20 years experience as an artist, muralist and graphic designer. Plus, 15 years experience as an art handler, custom art installer and picture framer. For the last 10 years I have been doing production design, interactive art and work for theater and film. Since about 5 years ago I have also added 3D design, fabrication, museum preparation and exhibit development. I enjoy designing for 3D printing, Laser cutting and CNC applications. Now I am a Specialty Subcontractor and I own my own Fine Finishing company. I do demolition, finish construction, painting, drywall repair and texturing. Plus installation of wallpaper, custom art and decorative treatments. And since I can remember I have enjoyed sketching, drawing and painting. I love having my work be site specific and I try to take the environment and the experience into account on my designs.
