Introduction: My name is Caitlin and am currently a graduate student at the Newhouse School in Syracuse. I am originally from New York and have lived out west in Colorado/Oregon since 2015. I am a documentary photographer which is how I approach most of my photoshoots along with some posed portraits. I specialize in events, weddings/elopements, engagements, families, birth stories, and my personal favorite: documentary family or business photography - showing your 'day in the life' through candid imagery. My priority as a photographer is to make you feel comfortable and listened to. Aside from occasional directed adjustments, my photo sessions are down to earth and laid back - allowing space for moments to unfold organically. Finally, It's okay to feel a little awkward in front of the camera. This usually leads to laughter which leads to great photos. I also have many clients who have a drink or two before/during the photoshoot - no judgements here! Thank you and I look forward to telling your story.

Although my partner and I were not initially enthusiastic about getting engagement photos, Caitlin made this process not only easy, but also a fun and memorable experience for us all! Before heading out on our photoshoot, she took time to email us about what we were interested in and gave us the choice and freedom to be our most authentic selves in the shoot. Being able to open up as we did in the shoot was incredibly easy with Caitlin; she casually conversed with us and had us laughing and smiling as she snapped our photos. Caitlin was timely and incredibly professional in her work which we so greatly appreciated. Looking back at our engagement photos, I am so happy we chose to get them done. They truly embody who my partner and I are: nature lovers, ridiculously silly, and truly in love with one another. I would highly recommend Caitlin for any of your future work!

There's no other photographer you need to go to. Not only is Caitlin an exceptional photojournalist, but her ability as a portrait photographer to capture raw emotions and turn them into an image you can hold onto for the rest of your life is uncanny. I didn't realize how easy it could be to work with someone on capturing professional, emotional, and memorable experiences via the power of a photographer until I hired Caitlin. Caitlin was a pleasure to work with during our family photo session. Our children are young and can be a challenge during this type of thing, but Caitlin was beyond patient. She is a pro at capturing sweet, candid moments, which in my opinion are often better than being forced into a pose. We will definitely be using her services again. What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated with a BA in Film Production. After college, I began pursuing photography as a career and was hired by a student travel company to photograph their international programs in 2016. This took me to Southeast Asia, Cuba, Central America, and Belize. Since then I have been focused on both editorial work and family/business photography. Most recently, I was selected to participate in the renowned Missouri Photo Workshop which I completed on September 26th, 2020.
