What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
New relationship coaching clients complete a thorough survey at home - stating their relationship needs and pertinent background information - so that we can use their first coaching session as efficiently as possible. Couples often prefer having separate individualized coaching for session #1, so that each partner can develop a customized Relationship Action Plan. Future coaching sessions are held jointly so that each couple has the time to learn new relationship skills in a supportive environment.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I enjoy learning new coaching techniques and research from international presenters and authors at the annual Smart Marriages Conference; from fellow professional coaches and friends at the Denver Coach Federation; and have been a Certified Family Life Educator with the National Council on Family Relations since 2007..
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
I keep my hourly pricing system both simplified and affordable at only $70/hour (coaching sessions lasting less/more than an hour are prorated accordingly). I also offer a 10% discount for clients who prepay for 7 (60-90 min.) coaching sessions. Coaching sessions may be conducted in-person, via telephone, SKYPE, or email for the clients' convenience.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always been fascinated with the interpersonal interactions of couples involved in long-term relationships, as a young student, secondary teacher, and later as a husband and father. When choosing a second career, combining this passion with my desire to help others in need was a natural choice.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Most clients request help with effective COMMUNICATION, civil CONFLICT RESOLUTION, and greater CONNECTION. In addition to these skills I also have expertise in: increased Happiness, Money management, giving and receiving Love, Parenting with love & logic, and planning for your Empty Nesting years.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I am very pleased with the premarital coaching I did with a couple who were both raised with divorced parents. After 7 customized premarital coaching sessions, they progressed from being "tainted" with childhood memories of their parents' unhappiness, to building a solid foundation on how they will choose to live their married life differently.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Successful relationship coaching requires client Desire, Effort, and Commitment to the coaching process and to your spouse/partner. I pledge to use ALL of my coaching passion, current research, and effective relationship knowledge to help you and your spouse/partner during the coaching process.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
What are my current relationships needs? Does Coach Greg have the professional training and passion to help me achieve my relationship goals? Am I ready to make some healthy, positive, long-term changes in my relationship(s)?
