Involved in the martial arts since 1968, Kevin is a certified master level black belt in four different budo arts and holds U.S National and International championship titles in Judo and full-contact bare knuckle Karate. The martial arts is his life work.
Master James is the President of Combat Judo International (CJI), which is the largest non-sport judo association in the world. He is a Technical Adviser to the All Military Combatives Program headquartered at Fort Bragg Combatives School, North Carolina.

Master James is is 5th degree black belt (master teacher) in Japanese Judo and Taiho Jutsu as certified by Dai Nippon Butoku Kai (DNBK) of Kyoto, Japan. The DNBK is the oldest and most prestigious budo (warrior arts) credentialing body in the world. DNBK was established in the year 1895 and is fully accredited by the Japan Ministry of Education and sanctioned by his royal highness the Menji Emperor.
Master James' judo rank is recognized by leading organizations in the United States, Canada, Europe, Pan America, South America and Africa.
Master James is also a certified black belt in Nihon Jujitsu and U.S. Combat Jujitsu under Grand Master Benjamin DeLeon (9th degree black belt and former Head Coach of the US Jujjitsu Team).
Kevin D. James is a registered black belt with the United States Martial Arts Federation (USMAF), North American Grappling Association (NAGA), the United States Jujitsu Organization (USJJO) and the United States Jujitsu Federation (USJJF) which is the oldest and largest Jujitsu organization in North America.
He is a 4th degree a black belt in Tang Soo (korean) karate as certified by Grand Master Suk Sung Son (9th degree black belt and founder of the World Taekwondo Association). In addition to traditional martial arts,
Master James brings over 35 years' experience of training and study in Bruce Lee's art of Jeet Kune Do with certificates earned from Dan Inosanto, Richard Bustillo and members of the Jeet Kune Do Nucleus.
