Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: We are small by design. The same arborist who meets you to review your tree care needs will perform the actual work. This helps reduce the need to re communicate important project details and helps ensure your satisfaction. We have extensive experience in the front range tree care industry. Over the years we have learned lessons, good and bad, that inform our approach to tree care. It is our goal to provide conservative, objective based tree care services explained in terms that are easy to understand. Our business is not based on a chemical "plant health care" program. We can offer realistic, practical alternatives to these treatments and we'll never sell you something your tree doesn't need. We enjoy helping people feel good about their trees. Every client and tree care project is different, it is very rewarding to face the unique challenges of every new job and see a satisfied tree owner at the end of the process.

Small Axe Tree with Ray Rocket and his brother Levi is a really terrific tree care company. Our locusts trees were big (35+ years old) and had a lot of dead parts, and Ray talked with us extensively about what we wanted done (leave this branch for shade/privacy, open this part up for a better view, etc.). They are clearly knowledgeable about tree health, and are as comfortable as any human has a right to be swinging around in trees!! They don't chip up the trees right there in your neighborhood but tote them away (your neighbors will thank you for the quiet) and they cleaned up every twig before leaving. They charge a fair price and are so nice on top of everything! Nice to know a couple of good guys with professionalism and a passion for their work. Highly recommended!!

We had 3 trees cut down and one of the stumps grinded. All the debris was removed and the price was very reasonable. Levi and his brother are hard working, polite and reliable.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We prefer to meet new customers on their property in order to get the best understanding of their goals and motivations. It is not always necessary that new customers meet us at their property but a visit to the property is a must. After surveying your trees and property we provide you with a written estimate, a physical copy or by email. If you decide to hire Small Axe Tree Care we will work together to establish a day to perform the work. The work is performed by the same arborist who met with you and/or surveyed your trees.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Certified Arborists by the International Society of Arboriculture, Levi Rockett (RM-7702A) and Ray Rockett (RM-7484A). Tree Care Industry Association Certified Tree Safety Professional, Ray Rockett. We are trained in all aspects of urban tree care including proper tree pruning, safe work practices and emergency repsonse.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask for a few basic qualifications to protect your trees and other property. Ask your tree guy if they are a certified arborist, certified arborists have demonstrated their knowledge and work experience to the International Society of Arboriculture. Ask for insurance policy information, hiring contractors without insurance puts you at financial risk. Ask if your tree guy is licensed, many local municipalities require tree care contractors to carry a license.
