FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I never come in at the lowest price. I charge more than average because I choose to take the time to provide consistent high quality craftsmanship and materials. I value quality, beauty, and customer satisfaction. When you first see a room I've painted, I want you to have the impression that it looks new, beautiful, and clean; and has an uplifting quality that you love. Then I know I have done my job! I base my pricing on a combination of estimated hours and square footage of walls and ceilings to be painted. My prices average between $1.25-1.50 per square feet including materials and labor for regular painting; $1.50-2.50 for new construction projects; and $3.50-$20 per square feet for creative, decorative finishes and murals. My per hour averages are between $30-50 depending on the job. That all said, I recommend meeting me and getting a price quote for your project and then comparing my price, my references, my portfolio, and myself with other companies, and deciding which works best for you.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I try to find out as much as I can about what my potential client needs in terms of color, texture, time-frame, style, etc. I prefer meeting with a new customer at the job site if possible as this helps me understand what is needed and helps me provide more accurate quotes. If I am hired, I work with my client to find the best possible time to do the work. During the project, I communicate often with my client to ensure customer satisfaction. After completing the project, I do a walk-through with my client to make sure they are pleased with the work before submitting a final invoice.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I learned the art of painting, plastering, and refinishing wood floors when a real estate developer asked me to renovate an apartment complex he owned. I renovated several apartments for him and eventually became skilled enough to start my own business. I learned decorative painting and plastering by taking several courses from Kelly King, who was a master in the field. Lately, I am learning the art of murals.
