Introduction: In addition to being a dog trainer I am a Family Paws Parent Educator. What that means is that I prepare families with dogs for life with babies and children. I LOVE the moment when a dog and their guardian are connected and communicating for the first time. Communication isn't a one way street and when owners learn to listen to their dogs great things can happen.

I've had the pleasure of working with Jennifer Skiba at Namaste Dog Training on several occasions. Her skills using classic & operant conditioning, combined with her genuine love for dogs makes Namaste Dog Training an excellent resource for pet owners. Jennifer's easy going yet focused style gives pet owners the confidence to learn and practice in an environment that sets them up for success. Jennifer has keen organizational skills and a creative imagination. Attending her Puppy 3 &4 classes last summer I was impressed by all the fun games she created to make learning fun for both pet & person. Also an animal rights advocate in the community, Jennifer shares her passion and awareness with seemingly endless energy. She often volunteers to help expand the importance of positive reinforcement training with your dog. Jennifer helped us have a dog that we can take everywhere. We started classes with her when our dog was a puppy and just continue to take classes as we love her style of teaching. Her group classes are wonderful as they allow us to work with distracting environments and be around other dogs. You can tell she LOVES her job and wants what is best for you and your dog. She is always happy to stay late and answer your specific questions too! I would highly recommend her to anyone with any age dog as she has a gift for working with dogs.

I have worked with Jennifer with all of my dogs. She is thorough, patient and extremely knowledgeable about dogs and training. The work I have done with Jennifer has enabled me to have dogs that behave themselves when company is over and to maintain a relatively calm home environment with three large dogs. More importantly, my relationship with my dogs has grown stronger and I have learned skills to be the leader of my pack.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I watch training DVD's every other week and attend seminars whenever my schedule and finances allow it.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
It comes really naturally for me and after years of hearing friends say "You should be a dog trainer" I did it.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Puppies! I train lots and lots of puppies. Reactive dogs. Dogs who bark/lunge on leash are my second most common client dog.
