FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It is impossible to quote a price for interior design on square footage or to guess by the description on Thumbtack because each project has multiple parts. What may be simple in one scenario may be complex in another. I have an hourly rate of $55 but I often will present a flat rate in my proposal for design services and project management (after seeing the space and interviewing the client) that includes a limited number of changes.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first step is a phone call. Thumbtack is great for the initial contact, but a personal connection is a must in communicating the needs of the project and choosing a designer. After I understand the project a little better, I need to meet the client in person (if possible) and see the space that is to be designed. I interview the client to get to know them and their style and desires more clear. At the next appointment I present an inspiration palette and a proposal for the job. If all looks good, we sign a contract for the project and set a schedule for completion. I offer turn key service...bringing trusted contractors that I oversee from start to finish. My clients don't have to suffer through the pain of finding their own contractors (and hoping they are good) and trying to manage all the pieces and parts at the rack rates of the contractors. Instead, they work directly with me and I handle all the scheduling and manage the project for them.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I got my education in Interior Design from Baylor University in Waco, TX. I have been a professional artist for over 20 years.
