Joan is a true professional and a great counselor. She has helped us to navigate several delicate and complicated problems, and continues to do so. Nothing seems to faze Joan, and she is fantastic at helping couples to to tackle issues head-on that would otherwise stay hidden and unaddressed. Highly recommended for couples' therapy.

Vlada was an amazing officiant and made our ceremony very special. All our guests loved her. We cannot even begin to tell her how fortunate we feel to have found her and to have been able to have such a wonderful person marry us on our big day. She was incredible helpful, patient and very professional through our ceremony. She is more than an officiant, she is a friend and we are so happy to had a chance to meet person like Vlada. Vlada thank you one more time!!! :-)))

Having met Dr. Anna is one of the best things that's ever happened to me. I had been in therapy for over a decade with various counselors, but now I know the difference between a therapist and a Therapist. She is warm, compassionate and creative, no two sessions are the same, and she seems to have an incredible repertoire of techniques at her disposal. She is always goal-oriented, makes sure that results are really happening, and always explains everything so clearly as you have never heard and never understood before. She has the greatest sense of humor, her academic knowledge is amazing, and her fine-tuned sensitivity boarders on the mystical. Yet she is always funny, down to earth, and real. I've never laughed so much in therapy sessions before! :-) I am so grateful, ... because I am finally discovering what "free" and "happy" really mean!

I had tried therapy a couple times. Maybe I wasn't ready, maybe they weren't as good as Alison. But she's helping me make the changes I always wanted to make. She's really kind, but also pushes me. I'm so glad I'm doing this.

Working with Luis was a real pleasure and treat. When I first contacted Luis for consultation he immediately contacted me back which right there was very impressive. Dan Minuchin is an outstanding family therapist, mental health consultant, trainer, teacher and clinical supervisor. I have had the fortune of working with him and observing him in all of these roles over the past several years. I initially worked with Dan about 10 years ago when I was a supervisor at agency that provided family therapy and services to families struggling with adolescents and families involved in the juvenile justice and child welfare systems. In this setting, he provided case consultation, supervision, and training to a team of social workers and family therapists. This model included live supervision and the use of a one way mirror. Dan would also accompany therapists on home visits to provide live consultations in the family's home. I later became a director of another similar family service program. I was able to hire Dan to provide Structural Family Therapy training to my entire clinical staff, as well as consultation, individual and group clinical supervision. His guidance and training was very well received by my staff and their skills as family therapists improved significantly. Dan is really a master trainer and has worked as a family therapist, teacher and trainer for several decades. He has an incredibly diverse personal and professional background and experience working with families of all walks of life. He is sensitive and well informed of the needs and experiences of families of color, immigrant families, LGBTQ families, blended families, Jewish Orthodox families, families struggling with substance abuse and mental illness, delinquent teens, children with special needs, and families dealing with divorce, loss and separation. I have referred many families to Dan and I feel confident that he is able to work with the most complex families of all backgrounds. Dan is thoughtful and empathic and has very high ethical standards. His structural and strategic approach to addressing problems is highly effective and families often will see progress in a short amount of time. I am a family therapist and clinician as well, and Dan has provided me with outstanding clinical supervision and guidance and has been instrumental in my own professional growth as a therapist and clinical supervisor.

At a time in my life when nothing but devastation was facing me, I made a chance call to Ed. Explaining the circumstances of my problem and needing a very quick first step to resolution, Ed not only assisted in providing the information needed to take the steps necessary to start recovery but he was there for each and every step that was taken from that moment on. Ed's method of "Whole-istic" therapy provided a solution that was healing, long lasting and complete. He is a person who has my total trust and I know will support me in my journey to recover. His methodology of therapy is to simply heal. I could not ask for anything better.

I'll admit, I didn't know what to expect when I first went to work with Larry. It was my first experience with hypnosis for any purpose but Larry was not only professional but a calming influence throughout the entire process. Starting with our initial phone consultation to the moment I sat down in his office, I felt like I was in good hands. More importantly - the treatment works! I went in with a specific problem I was looking to work on and, after an hour of his treatment, I immediately noticed a change and started feeling better. It felt like a great burden was lifted from my psyche and I was looking at the world through a different set of eyes. Any doubts that I may have had of his method actually working were immediately vanquished and I began to live my life free of the demons that previously haunted me on a daily basis. My wife and I are scheduled to work with Larry in the near future to continue to strengthen our communication and conflict resolution skills, and I will definitely work with him again personally. I highly recommend this service and cannot speak enough about the results.

I've had the privilege of working with Lorraine for over 6 years now, first in couples counseling sessions and subsequently in solo therapeutic sessions. I've found the work we've done in her office to be transformational both to my relationship and engagement in the rest of my life. Whether we're untangling historic patterns, or giving voice to my current fears and troubles, her questions and thoughts are incisive and cut to the heart of the issue. In addition to remarkable intelligence, Lorraine brings to bear a vast well of empathy that has allowed me to come as I am, however I am, whenever I need to and always expect to be greeted with the same openness; the same safe space. She is clear and thoughtful and her words have helped guide me to some of the most profound revelations of my adult life. Time spent in session with her is never time wasted. In addition, I have done two past life regressions with Lorraine and they have been truly fascinating; guiding me to places within myself that reveal the underlying histories behind what had always seemed to be irrational fears or concerns. In knowing those histories, the regressions have given me yet another tool to help me navigate my path in life. I'm so grateful to have found her. Julia M

I'm from the Bronx, NY and I have been dealing with issues of depression, as well as trying to move in a direction for my life. I've dealt with issues of separation from my partner, financial crunches, and still trying to achieve my future goals. It's as if I felt paralyzed, and I experienced panic attacks when trying to make decisions. Ms. West surely went above and beyond in her ability to help me address these problems. Along with being prompt and prepared, Ms. West was able to really help me confront issues within our sessions, and we even complete exercises that give me more insight into my issues. I am truly impressed by the quality of her work as I have been able to move past these feelings of paralysis, and make decisions that are truly allowing me to move forward.

My son had been suffering with severe anxiety and depression. We treated him with Western medicine: psychotherapy and pharmaceuticals. This form of treatment only made him suffer more. My son was willing to find another way "out" of his condition. He wanted to get to the source of his suffering and heal it. He found success with Nishanto Kane of Mind Designing. Through a variety of therapies tailored to his needs, she was able to pinpoint the source of his suffering and begin to heal the internal "wounds" he had begun developing in Sixth Grade. She gave him the "tools" to repair himself - but he had to be willing to do the work. Over the course of the summer before he entered his Senior Year of High School, he weaned himself off all medication, did his "exercises", checked in with Nishanto and became whole again. This mother and son owe a huge debt of gratitude to Nishanto Kane. It is my wish that she continue her mission of assisting people to attain their fullest potential and, then, pay it forward. Gratitude abounds!

About

My approach pulls from both intuition and theoretical orientations. I believe in the co-creation of a therapeutic space that is affirming, strengths-based, interactive, nurturing, and supportive. My caring and warm nature allows for empathetic listening listening and collaboration. I believe that that safe exploration of relational patterns, concerns, fears, shame and desire is crucial in therapy. I focus on identifying patterns and belief systems, where and why they originated, figuring out what works and what no longer works, and identifying and strengthening your inner resources. The aim of my practice is to guide you in creating a more peaceful and fulfilling life that is unique to you. Additionally, I am the Director of Clinical Services at the Gender and Sexuality Therapy Collective. Please reach out to learn more, to see if we are a good fit, or to be linked with one of our therapists at GSTC.
