I have trained mixed martial arts with Evis on a regular basis. His teaching style was very hands on and he gave me excellent tips on my form and technique. I highly recommend training with him if you want to excel at MMA.
I've trained with countless personal trainers out in NJ, VA, and here in NYC from private gyms (90 Second fitness) to public gyms ( Equinox, NYSC, LA fitness, Balleys, Mid City, MPHC, and Synergy) specifically for sprinting, fat loss, proper technique, and for other miscellaneous goals so I feel confident in my following assessment of Emmanuel George (a.k.a. Manny). I've attended approximately 10 private training lessons with Manny so far and found his style both enjoyable in terms of keeping the mood upbeat and feeling positive, while still providing a supremely intense work out along with solid technical and engaging feedback that would improve my workout and performance. I'm a stickler for proper posture and technique so I found it refreshing to see that Manny knew his stuff. I also appreciate the fact that he is extremely punctual, flexible, and accommodating with his scheduling. Manny has trained me at my gym, at his private gym, and even Central Park. And so far, he has arrived on time, with an infecting cheerful spirit, and prepared with all the equipment and with a mapped out workout plan already in mind. I really dislike it when other trainers just 'wing it' on the spot; fortunately for me, Manny shows much more initiative than that. Manny is one of the most patient, well-trained, highly skilled, reliable, and experienced personal trainers in the NYC Area. Not only does he offer extremely competitive rates and packages, but he is also extremely knowledgeable with mixed martial arts, free weights, and calisthenics. My initial goal when first starting with Manny was to just get back on a regular workout routine. However, I've already noticed substantial muscle gain, toner body, fat loss, and a much stronger core. Whatever Manny's workouts are doing for my body, it's definately working. As aforementioned, I've taken privates and group classes elsewhere, but they pale in comparison to Manny. He carries a commendable etiquette and professional and a great personality; he doesn't rush or blaze through the techniques and session with frustration and ignorance as others have with me. He even offers to take your body fat and mass stats and a diet plan. So all in all, I highly recommend seeing Manny whether you are an absolute beginner new to working out or an avid athlete with targeted goals. Keep up the good work Emmanuel! Best, SC.

I've known Ed Costigan for over 30 years in a few respects. First, as the most senior black belt instructor under Arthur Cohen he has always been there, not just for me but for Mr. Cohen and the entire organization and the law enforcement departments we've supported. Ed And I live in the same town and it's not hard to see that he's a well liked and respected member of the community. We don't talk much about his accomplishments as he keeps much private being a modest man but I can say he is a lifesaver not just as a lifeguard and a high profile security agent. More recently I have had the pleasure to train with Mr. Costigan in the Russian Martial Arts and can attest to his prowess. I would endorse and support Ed Costigan in any endeavor. Thank you Eddie!
Lamar is a special kind of trainer. I say that because whatever your goal is, he goes out of his way to find the solutions that work best for you. He could easily just give you a cookie cutter program and absent himself from your goals; but whether it is using technology or putting his own body to work with yours, he exhaust himself finding the best solution for you. He will meet you at your level and then help you improve and become better at what it is that you do. In my case I have been an amateur martial arts athlete most of my life and in my late 40's I have decided that competing in the open Ultra Heavy Weight Class in Brasilian Jiujitsu would be a blast. But I needed to improve my conditioning. I called on Lamar. Not only did he design a program for me and my specific needs as an older athlete. He also suited up in a Gi/Kimono and drilled with me until neither of us could barely move. The result was both a bronze and later a silver metal in my first two competitions. I could not a have achieved my goals without his help. That is what I want in a trainer . A trainer who cares about what it is I want to do rather than making me into something I'm not. I find that to be the difference between a novice and a master level trainer, of which is the latter, Lamar McKay is a Master LevelTrainer. Jose A. Esquea
I have trained with the art form for the past 39 years during which time it has impacted my life. I have gained confidence, discipline and commitment. Needless to say, I firmly believe that I was fortunate to have one of the best instructors (Keith Sammy).
Tang Soo Do is a wonderful martial art that provides great discipline, self respect, flexibility and a great source of weight loss. The teachers at Valley Karate are fantastic and they provide a variety of different instructions in line work, terminology, forms, one-step self defense techniques and grabs. They make themselves available for any help or support that is needed by any student. Valley Karate provides a great family inclusion aspect with Parents Night, Buddy Week and Family day. They also hold kids tournaments that make each of them winners no matter what happens and will be holding their first school tournament next Saturday, March 26th. Master Bergers is a superb role model for all the kids and adults, as well as all the other Masters and Dans. Finally, the students all aspire for Black Belt excellence at whatever level they are. Valley Karate rocks!
As my kids were entering their later years of grammar school and preparing to enter the middle grade system, I wanted to make sure they were mentally, emotionally and physically prepared for anything and everything that came their way. I wanted to keep them in shape, protect themselves, build confidence and increase their flexibility and so I found it right here in my home town, Sifu Ivan's Ultimate Martial Arts Acadamy. We have been training here for the past 6 months and this is as good as it gets when it comes to mixed martial arts. You will have an amazing time, meet new friends and find new levels of energy. After attending for several months now, I have noticed a huge positive improvement in the areas of confidence, focus, listening, strength, self esteem, endurance and grades. They are so eager to attend that we quickly went from once a week to twice a week. They look forward to learning new skills and mastering them in order to advance to the next level. The academy also reinforces the values of respect, friendship and family. It is an incredible environment to not only learn martial arts but to also have fun in the process. Sifu Ivan is an incredible instructor not only does he teach the skill, but relates it with life experiences and applies it with example. What a phenomenal experience filled with positive energy!
To Whom It May Concern, I am writing this testimonial to inform you of the talent and passion of my good friend, and teacher, Eric Stowe. While I met Eric while in high school, I did not get to know him until we met again after college. It is important to note, that up to age 19, I was overweight, and unfit physically. I was awkward, and when I walk, I tended, as my mother would say, to lumber. While in college, I lost a good bit of weight, and for a couple semesters, studied Shotokan Karate. Shotokan is a hard style karate, and practices included 45 minutes of strenuous exercise, followed by 15 to 30 minutes of technique or form. While my physical health improved some, I learned very little that would benefit me. After graduating, I met Eric when a mutual friend brought me to a class he was teaching. While we did warm up with some exercises, Eric quickly moved into techniques, so when we left the class, we had a feeling of accomplishment, that we had actually learned something that we could use. I immediately signed up to study under Eric, and continued to study with him for over 15 years. Within a year, my mother commented that while she wasnt sure how she felt about me studying the martial arts, she loved the changes she had seen in me. I stood more erect, I no longer lumbered when I walked, I was more graceful on my feet and more confident in life in general. I have seen Eric work with both men and women, both younger and older. From a middle school aged boy who studied for several years, to a retired woman who joined the class for about one year. Eric is a gifted teacher whose flexibility ensures that everyone in the class, from the most inexperienced, to the seasoned veteran, benefit from the time spent with him. I would recommend anyone looking to improve their health, balance, or peace of mind in a violent world, to spend time studying with him.
My work stand out from the rest because you get one on one training at a group rate I love my job because the smile I put on people's faces we they say that i Fell beeter about myselpf or my freinds notice I lost weight

Our School stands in front of other schools due to over 50 years of experience gathered from the Cheezic Tang Soo Do Federation. Our Curriculum is especially designed to fit the needs of each and every student that comes through our doors. We realize that different people and different age groups need different types of training. Our School motto is Always Give Back More Than You Receive. The most incredible thing about teaching Cheezic Tang Soo Do (Karate) is watching the faces of our students grow each and every day of class. Imagine a student with low self-esteem tries their first Karate class. In the beginning they are too shy to even look at me in front of the class. Then part way through class magically a spark fills this students eyes and all of sudden their life will never be the same again.
We offer age-specific programs for both children and adults. We have been in business for 20 years serving Bethel and the surrounding communities. Our instructors are caring, well-trained professionals.
For me, I've been training for 24 years in Tiger Schulmann's. I continue my training three days a week each week to keep up with my certification. I have a curriculum that I teach each week to my students from Master Tiger Schulmann. The way I am with my students makes it feel like a family environment.. I give them everything of myself to better help them reach their goals. My school is a place where people feel safe and can always come to, no matter their day, good or bad. Changing lives! I help people lose a tremendous amounts of weight while empowering students through my self defense program and give the most unfocused child discipline and the ability to pay attention for a long period of the day.
Private, personal self-defense, and martial arts lessons with a sensei who has been teaching students self-defense for over 30 years. I have a black belt in four separate martial arts and styles. I am dedicated and committed to both the martial arts and the student's learning and self-confidence. The martial arts began centuries ago with the teacher and student trusting and learning together in a unique and private setting. The student was able to not only learn self-defense, confidence, and protection skills, but they were also able to learn and grow as an individual and as a person. The element of trust became easier for the student as they were able to confide and learn in this sacred and private setting. There are no other students to distract you from learning, no lines, no substitute teachers, no being stuck in the back of the class or the back of the room. All questions were asked and all questions were relevant. The student was always the priority and the focus of the class and session. Always more time for learning and confidence building. That's the tradition where I came from and what I believe in. No uniform is required, no long term contract, and no hidden fee. The only request from me, Sensei Dennis, is for serious students only who keep their word, who come to class on time, who are respectful to the martial arts and the sensei, and who are willing to trust and learn. Any student who is willing to learn comes into the room leaving their ego at the door. With that agreement in mind, then that's our contract. Private classes are 90 minutes long and can be requested for any day of the week at any time provided that the time is not already scheduled. Semi-private and small group classes can be requested and done upon request. Classes can be in the day, afternoon, evening or late hours. Classes are for men, women, children, and couples. No age is too old or too young. Everyone is welcomed. Remember that personal safety and protection skills never goes out of style. Wherever you live or wherever you move to, your protection skills and advantage goes with you. I hope to have the privilege of meeting and teaching you in the future. Thank you. ~ Sensei Dennis.

Silent Dragon has been offering some of the country's most thorough and comprehensive instruction in both traditional and progressive Chinese and Chinese-Indonesian martial arts throughout the Tri-state for more than 30 years. My name is Matt; I took over from my teacher and mentor Bruce Walker, the founder of our school, back in 2010. Since then I've been continuously teaching and training, and have had the privilege to work with people of all ages and abilities, including a thriving senior citizen's group, the oldest member of which was 101 years old! I strive to both preserve the essence of the traditional arts and the teachings of my teachers, while allowing martial practice to evolve to meet the ongoing demands of it's students and practitioners. At Silent Dragon, we seek always to tailor our instruction to the exact needs and abilities of the student. No one is put in a mold; but rather we seek to bring out the best qualities already inherent in the individual.
