We hired Nick to DJ an event we had in New Haven, CT and he was great! He arrived early and was completely set up at least 30 minutes before the event started - which was greatly appreciated! He even brought his own DJ booth and lights. I should have given him more of a heads up on the type of music we wanted, but once I gave him a few examples of some bands to play he did a great job keeping it up. He also did a wonderful job making announcements throughout the event to keep the attendees in the loop. In our original agreement Nick said he would bring a photographer and would leave us with a thumb drive of all the pictures. We thought this offer was ABOVE and BEYOND so knew he would be great to work with. Unfortunately the photographer wasn't at the event, but Nick did have a nice camera that we were able to take photos with. I'm waiting for Nick to mail me those photos on a thumb drive and as long as I get those soon I am comfortable leaving a 5 star review! Nick was a great guy so I know they will be in the mail any day now. And as an added bonus: he sings! If you're event go-ers are into Frank Sinatra, make sure to let Nick know and he'll put on a show. ;-)
Your jazz band was even better than what we were hoping for! It added just the touch we wanted - and such a fun group! Thank you! Can't wait to hear you again.
I took piano lessons from Gary for years and his program is fantastic. I learned to play the piano through songs that I loved, which made me want to continue with lessons as a kid. I am in college now and I still play the piano. Also, his rockonamerica program was a wonderful experience. I got to play rock music in a band with other kids my age. It was way cooler than any piano recital. I would definitely recommend taking music lessons with Gary; his lessons were a lot of fun and years later I still retain what I learned.
Way overdue in submitting this but I'm incredibly busy. These guys were excellent they made our Thanksgiving a seamless happy holiday event with our family. We didn't have to worry about the minor details. Very reasonably priced. If you want to have a great party or holiday event with your family hire these guys!
Dianne, Monk and Sam of the Talking Machine headlined our fundraiser, music festival wedding in August 2017. They are fabulous musicians - huge diversity of ability - their own unique take on cover songs, and their own original music which is totally awesome. They also look like rock stars, have the stage presence of rock stars, but also somehow are organized and helpful and super responsive on email. I would recommend Talking Machine to anyone hosting an event or any bar who wants to draw in more customers. If they had a standing set at my local bar, I would go every week! You won't be disappointed!
Soulful Sounds were the perfect choice for our son's graduation party! It was an amazing night with thunderstorms, rainbow & music ! They played to a large gathering of over a 100 people. A very professional band who adjusted to the situation and played remarkably. Highly recommend!
Our son has been taking piano lessons with Jonathan for several years. Out of all the teachers our son has had, Jonathan is far and away his favorite. Lessons mix technique, theory, scales, improvisation and songs; genres include classical, jazz, rock, pop and more. Jonathan can play anything and more than that, can teach anything! Jonathan respects his students and teaches to their abilitylessons are fun and fast moving, yet demanding. For more advanced students, Jonathans performance background is a bonus--he has helped our son prepare for concerts at Madison Square Garden and The Bitter End. Jonathan has been with us every step of the way and we will no doubt be with him every step of our sons musical career. I would whole-heartedly recommend Jonathan to students of all levels." Thank you so much Jonathan!!!
I play rock bass but never learned chords or theory, which held me back. KEVIN was able to identify my strengths and weaknesses within the first lesson and has put together lessons that have been consistently fun and effective, with just the right level of challenge. He made me feel comfortable , which is enabling me to take on new challenges. Very patient and skilled.
I hired Bassoon in the Wild Band for my wedding. The music was great especially the bassoon playing in the background, it is definitely one of a kind. Highly recommended
My daugher took piano lessons from Gab Kallay before moving to Germany and really enjoyed taking lessons from her. Gab was very patient but also extremely thorough with the lessons. In Germany my daughter later joined the school band and continues to play.
Jonathan and his and band played at my birthday party.Omg, it was beautiful. My guests were wondering where I had heard them play and could not believe I just discovered them online. We had the dinner hour under such ambience, it felt like we were in an expensive lounge! If I need a band, I will definitely be calling Jonathan again!!! *Ps. I had a last minute request for an additional song and they made it happen!!
Nick West is THE best. He’s the creme de la creme...the cats pajamas, the bees knees and the real McCoy. For recording studio sessions he’s a One-Take-Jake with any style of music and he has a bottomless reserve of creative ideas. Onstage, in concert, he’s not only rock steady musically but his love for the music always shines through. Our fans always tell me what a great time it looks like he’s having while he’s playing. Plus he’s the consummate professional: easy going, great sense of humor, always shows up early for rehearsals and shows and is the kind of guy you would hang out with more if he wasn’t so dang busy! West is the best. Get him while you still can.
One Man Matt is a one stop music extravaganza, delivering riffs & arrangements ethereal in nature, enjoyable & pleasing to the heart, soul, and mind of his audiences. Matt is a humanitarian, with an ear for the cosmic harmonies of universal consciousness, as well as good old rock, roll & soul! Matt is well versed in the artistic journey of life, where creativity wins the day, and love rules the roost! Rock On OMM; rock on! Stephen Weeks, Electric Light Orchestra
I hired Peter to play an outdoor party that I do every year to entertain friends and a few clients. This is the first time that I hired an entertainer, I usually just play my stereo in the background. Peter changed the entire atmosphere of the party. For starters, he sounded like a full band with his backup tracks. Then he accommodated so many of my guests requests. He is like a literal walking library of music. He did all kinds of pop rock hits and even accommodated a request for Sinatra and Roy Orbison. Then I asked for some Motown and dance. He literally covered all of our requests and even entertained with a few impressions of stars. We had a blast when Peter did a few sing along tunes. I didn't know so many people love to sing. Well, I definitely recommend Peter and plan to have him back next year.
Helene was my piano teacher from kindergarten through high school. She taught me how to read, understand, play and love music. Furthermore, my early -and in-depth- start with piano prepared me for years of trumpet in various advanced bands. Although I am not currently taking lessons, I still sit down to play piano whenever I get the chance. I'll play anything from Bach to Beethoven to Josh Groban to new and classic Disney - really anything I'm in the mood for. Helene's teaching has made me proficient enough in piano and music in general such that I can truly enjoy playing. Thanks Helene!!
Where do i start?! Amazing music and skills to rock a party. My whole family loved the music! Spanish...hip-hop...edm...you name it, OneDay got it
Here at the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts, I've had a number of opportunities to work with Ms. Kelly as a solo act and with her bands, in all of our different venues. Always professional, on time and a pleasure to work with! And musically outstanding as well!
We had DJ Charlie Rock as our wedding DJ in '09, he was recommended by a friend due to his expertise. He went above and beyond to make our wedding special. We enjoyed him so much that we had him do our daughter's Sweet 16 in '14. Charles is the consomate professional. Simply, the BEST!
Professional, fun, talented, and with a very cool and impressive array of awesome, and dance-able tunes, Merchants of Rhythm is my new go-to band for hire for when I throw a big party and want to impress my guests. Hire them today!
The Red Hots are RED HOT!! These girls and guys are absolutely great! Not only do they play my Breast Cancer fundraiser every year in NYC (under their Breast Cancer battling superpower name the Hot Pinks!) My wife and I hired them to play our wedding, they were a HUGE hit. Whether playing originals or covers the Red Hots rock.

Los Chamanes is a musical group serving a fusion rooted in Nueva Cancion and Latin-American folklore, with flavors of jazz, rock and blues that was born from the spirit of friendship between these Chilean expatriates in NYC, a nostalgia for the magic of the Andes and their native culture. In September 2008, they released Conjurostheir first albumavailable on digital downloads and CD. Initially, the band interpreted songs from authors of Argentina and Chile such as Fito Páez, Violeta Parra, Peteco Carabajal, Victor Jara, Congreso, etc. With time, they have increasingly combined their own compositionswhich now represent almost all of their repertoirethrough which they hope to guide their listeners to reflect on issues such as our behavior as a species and social injustice through the healing and inspiring power of music and poetry. Los Chamanes hold a residency monthly at Terraza in Queens, and have entertained at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe and for the Chile Independence yearly event in Randall's Island. They were the opening act of the concerts of Mariana Baraj and Fernando Ubiergo, and have appeared in various "peñas" (folkloric shows), cafés, restaurants and events in the NY Tri-State area. In 2009, they were on a tour twice in Puerto Rico. They performed at the Noche de Viaje Cultural, at an event organized by the Chilean community in association with the city and in Old San Juan. They were invited at the TV show, Buenas Noches con Silverio on Canal 13 and on 2 radio shows of the University of PR. They've recently contributed to various benefits for the victims of the tsunami and earthquake in Chile.
