Water Damage Cleanup and Restoration

This review was originally written on January 6 on a duplicate page. It has been uploaded here for transparency. Today is February 18th and still no resolution has been made. The initial mitigation work began on July 9 following flooding at my home. Alex and his crew responded quickly and handled the mitigation and cleanup work well. The work during this phase was solid and allowed repair work to move forward. Alex also referred a contractor, Pablo from LCB Home Improvement, who completed the final repairs and buildout in the house. That work was excellent and professionally executed. At the beginning of the project, Alex was extremely responsive and on top of communication. During the mitigation phase, coordination and execution were handled properly, and the cleanup work met expectations. Issues arose after insurance funds were paid and reimbursements were required. The insurance check was issued on October 15 and was subsequently cashed by Tri State Restoration. Prior to that, I paid multiple expenses out of pocket so the work could proceed, including mitigation related costs and pod storage. On November 20, a reimbursement check was issued to me by Tri State Restoration. That check was returned and did not clear. I received confirmation from my bank on November 26. Since November 26, I made numerous good faith attempts to contact Alex by phone and text to resolve the issue. Multiple assurances were made that replacement checks were being sent, but no payment or tracking confirmation was ever provided. Communication declined significantly, and I have not received meaningful responses since December 18. As of this review, reimbursement has not been resolved without legal involvement. In addition, there were unresolved issues related to pod storage. Tri State Restoration coordinated the pod storage provider, and I paid Tri State Restoration for those storage costs. However, the pod storage company was not paid and refused to remove the pod from my property. As a result, the pod remained in my driveway for an extended period of time, creating an ongoing issue that I had to manage despite having already paid for the service. Another challenge was payment structure. Payments were made through multiple platforms including Apple Pay, Zelle, and QuickBooks. There does not appear to be a streamlined or consistent payment system, which made the process more stressful than necessary during an already difficult situation. To be fair, the quality of the mitigation and cleanup work itself was good, and the initial response was professional and timely. However, follow through, reimbursement handling, and communication after completion were serious issues. Because of this, I cannot recommend Tri State Restoration, despite the quality of the initial work. This review is intended to be factual and unbiased so others can make an informed decision.
