Electric Crown Guitar School
About this pro
We provide an even balance between skills needed to become a great musician and the actual application of these skills to real songs they enjoy playing. We use full band backing tracks which the students take home to practice along with and once they have mastered each song we record them playing along with these backing tracks. This both simulates what it's like to play in a real band and it also lets the student listen to what they sound like with a full band backing them up! We also have programs where you can earn accredited guitar certificates in Rock,Metal and Acoustic styles. While learning skills is an important part of our program we never forget the reason you picked up the guitar in the first place. It's to play music!!! Seeing my students break through the hurdles that are put in front of them and feeling a sense of accomplishment. It's the greatest feeling in the world when you see the light bulb come on in my students heads when it all comes together and they "Get it"! The other thing I really enjoy is when I see a student complete their first song that they have only heard on the radio up until that point. It's exciting to be able to actually play that song and even more exciting to watch their reactions when they hear themselves on the recording of themselves playing along with their favorite band. This is the point where you feel like a "real" guitar player!

I took beginning guitar lessons with Don Parkhurst for almost a year and found Don to be a very patient and attentive teacher. Don has a positive attitude toward working with a beginner and makes the learning fun.Sep 8, 2017
