FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is transparent and based on grade level and service type. Standard one-on-one virtual tutoring is $57/hour for K–5, $62/hour for grades 6–8, $70/hour for grades 9–12, and $95/hour for Private SAT/ACT prep. Families who schedule two or more sessions per week receive 15% off each session. I also offer drop-in live support through The Scholars’ Room Live, including single-session and monthly options. ✨NOW ENROLLING✨: We’re expanding our Test Prep experience with the launch of SAT Prep Club: a five-week online intensive designed to help students prepare for the Math and Reading & Writing sections of the digital SAT. Students may enroll in one subject area for 15 hours of instruction at $199, or take both sections for 30 hours at $349. That brings the cost to about $12–$14 per instructional hour, making SAT Prep Club an affordable option for families who want structured, focused support before an upcoming SAT date.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I begin with a free consultation to learn about the student’s strengths, challenges, academic history, and goals. From there, the student completes a low-pressure diagnostic assessment so I can identify skill gaps, learning patterns, and the best starting point. Then we review the results together, build a personalized learning plan, and begin sessions through The Scholars’ Room workspace. Families receive session notes, progress updates, and periodic reports through my parent portal.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a PhD student and after 10+ years of tutoring experience across several subjects, I'm ready to create my own space that seeks to address gaps in the tutoring landscape. My background includes coursework in educational psychology as well as experience in academic programming and student support, which has shaped an approach that is both academically rigorous and deeply attentive to the human side of learning. I'm looking for students who may benefit from my online program and currently have spots available.
