About
As a native to the DC area, I have an understanding of its unique character, and I love nothing more than showcasing its landmarks and sunrises through my lens. While landscape photography holds a special place in my heart, I also find joy in capturing candid portraits and films that encapsulate the genuine emotions and personalities of my subjects. Whether it's a couple strolling through the National Mall, a family sharing a moment of laughter or travelers exploring the city, I believe that authentic moments are worth preserving and cherishing.

Derrick’s professionalism exceeded my expectations. He captures the beauty of intimacy in his work through every detail. During the photoshoot, he was able to quickly adapt to ideas, respecting my own vision while also providing alternative options. As I look at the photos and video from the photoshoot, his incredible work goes above and beyond, allowing for my installation piece to tell my story. If I needed to photograph another one of my works, I would reach out to him again! He is an amazing photographer and videographer!

Details: 30 seconds • Videography • As suggested by the professional • Single camera • One location

After searching for a wedding photographer, we found Derrick’s website, and were extremely impressed. After meeting with him, we were even more impressed, and booked him for our venue. Since our wedding was small, and not an all-day event, Derrick was very flexible and willing to work with us and customized a pricing package that met our needs. Leading up to the big day, he was responsive, confirmed the day/date/time of the event, and even ensured we had a plan of when/where to meet. From the pre-wedding photos to the after-ceremony photos, Derrick was on his game. When looking at the quality of his work, you’d think he operates with a huge team; however, his one-man show does not disappoint.

We had the initial photos in less than 4 days, and our custom video a week and a half after that. We can not say enough wonderful things about the quality of his work, his level of professionalism, and his commitment to making our day perfect. If you need a wedding photographer, or even just a solid photographer to take photographs for you and your family, we highly recommend DerrickCreative.com. You will not be sorry!!!

Details: Wedding • 20 guests or fewer • Outdoors • Highlight video (3 - 4 minutes)
