For my recent big birthday (ending in 0), my daughter gave me the fabulous gift of hiring an interior designer to help me decorate the guest bedroom in our home. I wanted to transform the room to a cozy and attractive place for guests to stay, but was stuck on how to proceed from the freshly painted gray walls, platform bed and bedding set that I had already purchased. It was an otherwise empty canvas and I needed a clearer vision to make the room come to life.
My generous daughter had vetted a few interior designers that she found online and ultimately chose Jamie Little of Small Styled based on a thorough and very positive interview. Jamie informed my daughter that she could work with the elements that were already in place, rather than having to ditch them and start over as another decorator had insisted on. Jamie assured her that she could easily work within the budget without having to sacrifice quality.
Jamie contacted me to assess what my needs were, my decorating aesthetic, favorite colors, and expectations. She asked me to send photos of the room and, based on this information, she immediately went to work finding furniture, artwork, shelving, a plant, and other accessories to accommodate the small bedroom. Within a few days, Jamie presented a virtual composite of the room with her choices superimposed on our photos. I was thoroughly pleased and with a few tweaks approved her design.
One by one, the items purchased were delivered to our home and with each one the bedroom started to show its personality as it fell into place. When everything had arrived with accessories placed and art hung, we were delighted with the results. Jamie came for a home visit to put on her finishing touches making the room worthy of welcoming royalty and for us to enjoy the room with its charming reading charm, a quiet oasis to escape if needed.
It cannot be said enough that Jamie Little was a pleasure to work with. Along with her remarkable design skills, she was fun, easy to communicate with, and patient with my many questions and concerns. Photos of the final project reveal that rom a blank slate, Jamie created an attractive and lively space.
I highly recommend Jamie Little of Small Styled to anyone who is particularly interested in working within a budget of any size to create a pleasing space that meets the homeowner’s vision.
