My name is Melissa and I am a certified Special Education transitioning from teaching into my own tutoring business with a target for special education students grades k-8 grade. I have tutored students since I was in the 8th grade and professionally for the past 5 years. I provide not only a specialized program but tutoring that is Core Curriculum Standard Based. I provide observations with 2 lessons to get the students levels with questions from the parent, if needed communicate with your student's teacher to monitor progress. Provide monthly updates of progress and activities for ongoing learning with family engagement.
I use school IEP, qualitative and quantitative data to develop their program.
I specialize in ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual Disability,and dyslexia. I have experience in all subjects K-8 with a love of Math and Science.

I am flexible in my teaching approach to specialize for each student and am continuously looking for better and simpler ways to reach each student. I use Common Core to develop lessons and differentiate work as needed, I use my own manipulatives and provide a learning board for each student. I am very patient with each student but persistent with making sure the students get it. With positivity and encouragement you will see your student grow. I specialize in Elementary (K-6th) all subjects, Middle (6-8) Math.
