Talk to the provider on the phone; meet with them as a consultation--to evaluate if you feel comfortable with them. Look at their website; send an email to ask about education and training; their professional orientation and philosophy. Only see someone licensed in the state in which you are seeking services--you can check with that state's licensing department to make sure no complaints are registered against the provider. Ask others for referrals: your doctor, your friends and colleagues
