FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $30 an hour, if there are 2 people it is $50 for both. I don't teach more than 3 people at the time. Please let me know if you are looking for private group classes, I always have people interested in them.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
At the beginning I like to know about you, some students want to learn English because their job, immigration, or personal achievement, that will help me to prepare the class. I like to target some basic words commands. If the person is Foundation, we practice the alphabet intensely, know how to spell is key for communication. I have my program and book that I use, some of my topics: numbers, time, direction, family, verb to be and more. I don't sell books but I have some that I recommend. Level 1 or 2, we can work more grammar, comprehension, dialogue and more.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My Church provide ESL trainings for their volunteer staff, which include: manual, book, games, videos. Anyone that know English well can teach a class, but a very important factor is to break the wall from one culture to another. I was a ESL student more than 15 years ago, I know the concept and what works. I understand the students fear of a new language. I believe that Empathy is my biggest asset, I know how to be patient but also push you, to reach your potential.
