I am energetic, disciplined, and motivating to my students. I have 22 years of experience and knowledge and individualize my plans based on the individual needs of my students. In addition, I have kept up with technology, training, and programs to meet the needs of children with ADD, ADHD, and Dyslexia. Orton Gillingham and Wilson trained. I love children and seeing them succeed in whatever they try to accomplish. WE (parents, child, and teacher)come up with an individualized learning plan to meet the needs of individual learners based on visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learner. I take pride in making sure every student achieves success by the time they leave the hour of tutoring.

Earlier this year my son began working with Dawn for Tutoring for Reading Comprehension, and also Math. My son is in (public)Elementary school, and had been really struggling in larger sized classrooms to master particular concepts. Working with Dawn has been the right solution to address my child's glaring Academic needs. Dawn is a well prepared Educator/Tutor who cares deeply for her students. What I noted is that she can tailor her lesson plan, or the teaching approach to meet the specific needs of the student. She works really hard with them to raise their level of learning, and she is passionate about teaching. Her passion is honestly what sold me, she brings it every single day and it is infectious for the student she also tutors! I feel very confident that Dawn is the Tutor you should definitely consider for tutoring your child! I have been so pleased with Dawn's effort teaching my son, coupled with his improvement in the classroom that I extended our agreement for her to tutor again this calendar school year.

Honest, friendly and driven to help your child succeed. Dawn has shown my 12 year old that learning can be fun too. In just two weeks my daughter’s whole perspective about school changed from negative to positive. Dawn identified her weak spots almost instantly and showed her specific techniques that worked for her special learning style. She boosted her self-esteem in just days. My child now feels confident enough and wants to go to school to show the teachers what she learned and that she too can succeed. My daughter told me yesterday that “Ms. Dawn is not just my tutor, she is my friend.”

It depends on child and circumstance. For example homework help is different than teaching a whole program or specialization in one area.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first time I meet your child will be at the library (Glades or West Boca branch). I will do an Interest Inventory survey to get to know your child. After, I usually do an informal reading assessment to see where strengths and weaknesses are and then create an action plan.
