When my desktop started to freeze up almost every time I tried to open it or it refused to go from one program to another and none of my computer savvy kids could find the problem, I had Thumbtack recommend some local commercial sources and one of these was Bill Campbell. A number of things made me choose him – his quote was very reasonable, he would come to my house, he was a veteran and his reviews looked realistic. At my advanced age, trying to lug my computer back and forth to someone would be difficult and, some of the others I checked, seemed to make a house call overly costly. It turned out that I made exactly the right choice. Working his magic, as he had promised, he had my computer performing flawlessly – better than it had in a long time. When done he helped solve a few other problems I’d had and showed me some things I had not been able to figure out by myself all at the original quoted price. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?My standard price is a $95 flat fee for labor. I offer coupons for specific services on my website from time to time.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I pleasantly receive information about the customer's problem. I provide a quote. The customer and I set an appointment. I arrive at the location of the problem, fix the problem, collect payment, and leave the customer with a pleasant experience.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have U.S. Air Force training and a college degree. I have successfully completed additional computer service technician and training certification exams.
