All I can say is Amazing work !!! Alan and his team met with us to come up with a whole landscape plan for our front yard and the sides . Alan’s knowledge and experience led to a beautiful new landscaped yard . We asked for advice and he gave us a vision of what we could do . The end result is pure beauty . From the lush new foliage to new curbing . They also installed a new irrigation system that makes sense ! From the time we were quoted it didn’t take long for the job to be completed. They always showed up on time and they truly care about their customers! We will hire them again when we are ready for our back yard !

Alan was the designer and installer for the landscaping on our newly constructed home and is currently my regular landscape maintainer. I reached out to Alan regarding a project to install a paver walkway down my steeply sloped backyard and then building a 10' by 10' paver patio along the canal where the walkway ended. Alan listened carefully to our vision and gave us numerous design options to meet our needs. His price was by far the most competitive. As long as we've worked with Alan we've come to trust his knack for turning our landscaping visions into reality. And he delivered again! This was an intense, exacting project and Alan and his team kept at it everyday until it was completed. He checked in with us numerous times as the project progressed and incorporated every suggestion we made to make sure the final product was exactly what we wanted. Along the way he also suggested LED lighting which he also installed and that has proved to be so valuable at night! What a great suggestion! This new patio is now our favorite part of the house. It's our family and friends meeting spot for daily fishing, nightly fires, and drinking wine under the stars. Our neighbors have all commented on how great it looks and I've passed Alan's contact information onto them as well. I cannot recommend Alan and his team at American Phoenix Exterior Designs highly enough. I also hired Alan to replace my sod and plant new trees in my front and back yard. My neighbors say I have the best yard in the neighborhood and my backyard is now the perfect refuge for the family. We are already planning our next landscaping project with him!

We hired Alan to lay sod for us. Right from the start he was very responsive and was able to get us a quote right away. Seeing as he gave a great discount for military people, we used him. We also ended up hiring him to install two lawn pop-ups from our gutters. Unfortunately it was kind of downhill from there. The majority of the sod initially laid was very poor quality. Some died completely. It was thrown down in patches, so as to make the ground very uneven with big gaps in between. I had to dig up the pop-ups afterwards to get them to lay flush- since they were sticking up crooked in the lawn (well above the grass) and no mower would’ve ever gotten over them. Even that was tolerable. The biggest gripe is that water bottles and trash from the materials were left on site. And to top it off, they left all of the pallets (16+) on the neighbors property which is under construction. We got notified by our HOA two weeks ago and they have yet to pick them up- even after Alan told me he’d pick them up himself after the sod company dropped the ball. They’re still sitting there as I type this. We obviously we be using American Phoenix again, which is too bad because we had planned to use them for some major landscaping revisions.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Alan Patterson (Designer / Salesman / Owner) Our Botanist, Alan Patterson has multiple degrees including Ornamental Horticulture. He has been a Master Gardener with the SWFL Agricultural Extension since 1990. He also holds multiple Certificates from Hunter & Rainbird Irrigation Training Courses. 1992 to 1998 was an Imagineer for WDW Animal Kingdom. Design and supervised the install of areas in Animal Kingdoms DinoLand, Park Asia, Theater of the Wild, and surrounding establishments. He has held multiple Certificates from the LMA (Landscape Maintenance Association)
