I was very impressed with Kory and his crew on my project. First off, from submitting the request on Thumbtack to him contacting me was less than 10 minutes. He was then at my house in under and hour to give me a bid (which he did right on the spot as opposed to go back and then send it days later or never). THEN he started on the project the next day! I had originally asked for some land clearing but when I explained the end vision to Kory he was very good about helping me with solutions to a my overall problem and ended up doing an entire deck instead of juts land clearing. The deck turned out great and I'm super pleased with the work quality and the price.

I’m now reviewing years later as I saw this in my inbox due to needing a new hire for another project. However, This guy requested I pay him $200 in advance for the deposit (he did absolutely nothing except threw a tarp I had over the sand for the pavers. He came by the next day or day after with two guys that looked like he picked them up off the street to do the work while he delegated.
The guys mainly one guy doing all the work, put the pavers down for one walkway. After Kory and I spoke to get my feedback on the work already done, they took off after a short bit. He asked me to pay another $200 which I did and never heard from him thereafter. He came here to get $400 and left me with a project undone which I had to pay someone their full price to finish it up.
Thumbtack, you all need to do better at vetting these so-called contractors to ensure they’re doing right by customers and not taking customer’s money.
