Kira Bourdage Tutoring

Hi, I'm Kira! I'm a current medical student with a background as an EMT and medical assistant, and I've been tutoring students of all ages since 2020. My academic specialties are science, math, and writing; these are subjects I've studied deeply and continue to use every day in my medical training. Alongside tutoring, I've spent 10 years coaching gymnastics for kids ages 2 to 18, including athletes I've helped prepare for high-level national competitions. That experience taught me how to break big goals into manageable steps, keep students motivated through the hard parts, and build genuine confidence rather than just drilling repetition. My approach is patient, focused, and built on example and positive reinforcement. I teach by working through problems alongside my students so they can see the reasoning, not just the answer; then, I hand the reins over as they're ready. Every student learns differently, and I take time early on to figure out where someone's strengths are and where the gaps sit, then adapt my methods to fit. Whether you're a middle schooler struggling with algebra, a high school student tackling chemistry or biology, or a college student trying to sharpen a paper, my goal is the same: help you understand the material well enough that you can handle the next problem on your own.
