Introduction: With over 25 years of training and experience in teaching the most comprehensive style of Aikido in the world, I make my classes inspirational, educational, challenging and fun. Nihon Goshin Aikido is a lifelong learning journey developing and integrating body, mind, emotions and spirit. You will learn how to defend yourself but more importantly you will learn how to live with honor, enthusiasm, effectiveness and compassion. The greatest reward for me as a teacher is to build a trusting, challenging but nurturing relationship with my students, to inspire them to be the best they can be, and to see the "light bulb" of enlightenment go off in their eyes when they make a breakthrough in their knowledge and skills.

As a Security Professional of 7 years working in the Hospitality Industry I have had my fair share of physical encounters. My friends in the security industry used to joked that my fight record Zero to Countless losses. Since I have been training in Nihon Goshin Aikido under Sensei Giorgi for over a year now I am proud to say that I have been able to place a few marks in the win column. Thanks to Sensei Giorgi I have learned the tactful art of Verbal Aikido, which has kept many confrontations from becoming physical. Along with the necessary skills to handle situation quickly, quietly, and confidently if things become physical now. When faced with a large fight at a function I was working in late 2010 (45 plus people) the skills learned in Aikido helped me save the life of the aggressor of the situation allowing me to get him medical attention and to help get my co-workers out of the situation basically unscathed. Every Aikido class is a continual learning experience, even when the same skills sets have been practiced something new is always taken away from the every class. There is never been a De ja vue feeling at the end of a class. If anything there is many new things to take away and think about in everyday self defense situation.

The Aikido School of Defense has a lot to offer people of all ages. It stands alone as a martial art that gives you all sorts of options in self-defense (throws, joint-locks, strikes and grappling) that you can use alone or as a window to a holistic approach to wellness. Additionally, it's a much more cost-effective martial art out there than many others.

I've been taking Aikido with Sensei Giorgi for over 4 years. It's been a wonderful eye-opening experience. You learn what human energy is and how you can harmonize with it in a self-defense situation. It's also a journey of self-discovery. What you do on the mat reflects your personality. You realize your strengths and weaknesses and embark on a path of self-improvement. It's also a whole lot of fun!

I have been practicing Aikido with Sensei Giorgi for almost 5 years. At the beginning I was not sure if this was for me but the effectiveness of the art combined with the clarity and experience of our teacher quickly changed my mind. Aikido has given tools not only to defend myself but to harmonize with every aspect of every day life. In Aikido I have developed confidence, awareness and compassion, all of this while having a great time with great people!
